I subscribed to Standard through Google Play and yet I didn't unlock any benefits on my account even though I'm using the correct email - it's telling me to unlock Viki Pass. Google Play says the subscription is unconfirmed and the issue isn't fixed even after deleting and reinstalling the app multiple times. EDIT: Now I can see the benefits on my account. The app works smoothly and the selection of shows is extensive. I recommend!

Don't let all of the complaints fool you. I use the free version, which all that means is you have to watch a couple commercials for each episode, and half of them give you a "skip" button after a few seconds. The commercials are half as long as Tubi and Amazon Video, and the app works great with subtitles and remembering where you left off in each episode. They have plenty of free Japanese and Korean dramas, romantic comedies, etc. The free library is quite extensive and has some great shows.

I've had this app for a while now. I pay for the subscription and have no Issues. I can watch from my phone, tablet, TV, and desktop without any problem. People complain about the ads, but if you have a subscription, it's not a problem. If you're not willing or unable to pay for a subscription, the unfortunate truth is that you'll have to sit through ads. As a 90s kid, I had no choice but to sit through commercials to watch my favorite shows. I'm really grateful to be able to watch without ads now.
