User Reviews:
This is the best macro tracking app that I've ever used and I've tried many of them. I lovethe Energy and Macronutrient target bars, as they are very easy to read (nice colorcoding and | like that they are bars and not circular graphs). I was also able to manuallyenter my own Calorie/Macro targets which is great. Also, having the Micronutrientbreakdown is a huge bonus. The last app that I used did not have this feature and it is sohelpful to be able to visualize my vitamin and mineral consumption. The search feature isamazing! The database is extremely large and I've had zero issues finding the foods thatI'm looking for. I absolutely love the barcode scan feature. The diary is great; Having itright below the targets is really convenient and easy to read. It allows you to scrollthrough past days or to drag/drop foods if you need to organize your entries. Honestly, Icould go on and on about all of the reasons why I love this app but what | love most isthat it is simply a place where I can track my foods and it's not full of a millionunnecessary bells and whistles. This is an especially great app for those who are familiarwith tracking macros and want something simple; but it is just as easy to use forsomeone who is just starting out. Thank you for this wonderful app, I am so glad to havefound it!
I have been really blown away by how thorough this app is in comparison to others. Itseemed like all that was out there were ways to count calories, which I'm not interestedin at all. I have had some trouble the last few years managing some recent healthchanges and despite working with a holistic doctor for a time, the work andunderstanding really needed to come from me. I'm no expert when it comes to nutrition, but I've sure tried to learn how to eat healthy given my dietary limitations. I thought I wasdoing well when I found this app. I was feeling okay, having more good days than baddays. Started logging my meals on the app, and it's really opened my eyes to howunbalanced my diet still actually is, and would explain why I still have "bad" days. Whatan extremely helpful tool Cronometer is, seriously, it has brought such clarity to my diet.Iam extremely grateful! My only suggestion would be that I wish I could customize the"suggest food" section to better fit my limitations (gluten free, lectin free, MTHFR genemutation, anti inflammatory, etc) because I am also not the best at creating meals, sothat section I would find very helpful. Maybe Cronometer could add a way to customize itbased on your diagnosis? Just a thought.
This is the best tracker around, no question, but an scoring bug has appeared in the lasttwo software updates - I need to record data in another app(l happen to use Notes, butthat's not the problem). I have a few parameters that |I record from the Daily Reportfunction. I need to alternate between Cronometer and Notes to record the values. It usedto with great but with a previous update, it suddenly started to jump back to the top ofthe Daily Report instead of staying where it was - so as I progress through the long list ofinformation looking for the dozen or so parameters that I need to record, it repeatedlygoes back to the top of the report, requiring a LOT of repetitive scrolling to get backwhere I was. The first time this happened as a result of an update the Cronometer staffgot right on it and fixed it within a day. This time, I haven't even gotten a response to mybug report that they're "working on it."I like this app, but this new feature is maddeningand causes a lot of time wasting simply to get back to the place where you were prior tohaving to momentarily jump to another app. What would be great would be the ability tocreate my own limited report within the app with a list of parameters that are usercustomizable - but in the meantime, at least having the Daily Report staying put whileyou jump between apps would be desirable. Othetwise, the app is great.
