Complete news app. Only issue is every time I read an article from my paper, The Star Tribune, the app freezes and I have to restart the app making me lose my plac eand missing stories I wanted to read. Update: Hate the new comment section that blocks half the story when an article loads. Just give me a button edit: update... still a great app but i would like to come back to my same story after i check my texts or notifications. why restart every time the app opens? leave well enough alone.

I have had issues with SmartNews in the past as they occasionally run (have run) either flashing ads or have-to-kill-the-app ads, both of which are problematic. This aside, I continue to use SmartNews every day as one of my 2 news apps. They are responsive in removing them, but I would prefer they weren't there to complain about.

All the news is up to date and I enjoy the tabs that are available to choose from. I do not get swamped with push notifications. .. the few notifications I do receive are nice and gentle reminders of good stories that are available to read, which also reminds me that I have the application (which is nice! ). I love the variety of stories from each tab. Having multiple news sources available in one place is so nice and saves me from having way too many news apps.

I have been using this app for at least 6 years, every single day. Usually multiple times a day. I don't know if people will see this as a positive or negative but I can tell you that once you use the app a couple days (it's not something that happens after using the app a half dozen times, it takes a while) and it sees what kind of articles you prefer to read that's pretty much all you're going to get without actively searching for it.
