Rance 01 -Quest for Hikari

AliceSoft Games released a new game called Rance Series and the version is Ch. 1-2 Remastered, Ch. 1-7 + Kichikuou. The game’s story is about Rance is an adult fantasy RPG series started by Alicesoft in 1988. The series focuses on a character named Rance who was designed to be the opposite of the hero characters in traditional Japanese RPGs of the time. Consequently Rance is an extremely selfish, violent, horny asshole, and if he does anything good, it’s usually by accident. Rance 1 – Quest for Hikari: Keith, owner of Keith’s Guild, offers Rance a job worth 20,000 gold in reward from the Bran family to find and protect their daughter, Hikari Mi Bran, who was kidnapped with no subsequent demands made. Assisting him in his search is Zeth-born caster slave, Sill Plain, who was also kidnapped from her rich family and sold to Rance in exchange for his life savings. Through separate means, they both work together to solve the mystery behind the kidnapping, and eventually discover that the case is much larger than it seemed to be.Rance 02 – The Rebellious Maidens: (2010 Remake) Ten years prior to the story, four young girls in the town of Kathtom were appointed as disciples to an old mage named Ragishss. They were to be raised as mages and work as the town’s guardians after their training completed. However, after the ten years, the girls suddenly rebelled against Ragishss and killed him. During the harsh magic battle, the entire town was entombed underground and a barrier spell was placed on it, preventing anyone from leaving, including the maidens who terrorized the town.Rance 3 – Fall of Leazas: Leazas has fallen due to an attack from Helman, and Lia has been captured! Kanami finds Rance and asks him to help. Dark Lords were most likely involved in the attack and Rance needs to find and regain the holy sword and armor in order to gain the legendary Chaos, the only thing known to be able to damage dark lords, in order to free Leazas from Helman rule.Rance IV – The Legacy of the Sect: Rance’s battle with the former Demon King Gele, he was trapped along with Sill in an alternate dimension with no means to escape before being transported by the God of Light GOD and taken to an unknown location that they’ve never seen before. Rance being literally naked, and with his level mischievously dropped to 1 by the God of Light, they find themselves in an unknown land that isn’t in The Continent they’ve always lived. They come across a small town nearby and it doesn’t take them too long to find out that they are actually in the floating island above Leazas, Ylapu. Stuck in the floating landmass with no means to get out, they are forced to investigate in order to find a way to return to the main continent.Rance 4.1: Rance 4.1 stars an indebted Rance and Athena 2.0 as they try to solve the mystery of the sudden monster attacks from underground that has stopped Happiness Pharmaceutical, the creators of the Seirogan, from producing their main brand of healing products. The prize for fixing the situation is 150 000 gold and Rance isn’t the only one aiming for it.Rance 4.2: Continuing from 4.1, Rance and his new party attacks the Angel Army base. Kichikuou Rance: Rance leading a band of bandits in rural Helman Empire. The Imperial Patrol crushed his band with overwhelming force, and captured his slave, Sill. Rance fled to the borders of Leazas where he was rescued by Kanami, personal ninja of Lia, queen of Leazas. Eager to take revenge upon Helman and rescue his slave Sill, Rance agreed to marry Lia. As the new king of Leazas, Rance set his first step on a path that eventually leads to world domination, or death.Rance 5D – The Lonely Girl: Rance 5D is an RPG game with dungeon diving as well as ‘girl capturing’ elements, allowing the player to capture Gal Monsters to join the player’s party. Its odd title is due to the fact that Rance 5 went through three previous iterations and scrapped projects before the release of 5D.Rance VI: The Collapse of Zeth: Set in the year LP0004, Rance and Sill travel to the Magic Kingdom Zeth because they ran short of money again. However, after offending a high-ranked magic user, Rance is ironically thrown into the slave camp while his magic-using slave Sill is treated as a VIP.Vowing vengeance, he joins up with an underground resistance group called Ice Flame. Zeth being a nation of Magic, has a strong prejudice against those who cannot use magic. Ice Flame is a now small organization with the mission of bringing equality between mages and non-mages, whose rights are pretty much non-existant.Rance joins the group in order to get his revenge against the mages of the government of Zeth, and be reunited with Sill “while he’s at it”.Sengoku Rance: (a.k.a “Rance 7”) Sengoku Rance picks up where Rance 6 left off. Rance, after saving the nation of Zeth from destruction, ran away so he wouldn’t have to marry the princess. He and Sill ended up in JAPAN for a hotspring trip, upsetting the power balance of JAPAN, and setting the unification of its provinces in motion. Meanwhile, an ancient evil power stirs from its slumber…

Gameplay:

For the most part, this is an adventure game where your choices determine what actions you take to progress through the story. And obviously, danger goes hand in hand with adventure. Some choices might lead to you taking damage and dying unexpectedly, while others might lead to fortuitous encounters… Enjoy the game by taking plenty of detours along the way.

Dungeons where monsters appear, like forests or caves, are represented by cards. Will you fight a monster? Find treasure? Fall into a trap? Choose cards carefully when proceeding to your destination. If the card is face-down, you won’t know what it’s hiding. It could be rare treasure, or a powerful monster…

If you encounter a monster, a battle using weapon and shield “chips” begins. Will you play multiple weapons for a powerful attack, throw in shields for defense, save disposable weapons for an all-out attack, or do something else entirely… Well planned combos are the name of the game here. Though, that doesn’t mean brute forcing it won’t work. Buy weapons and shields at the shop to put together your own unique style of combat.

The protagonist.

A skilled warrior and pretty competent adventurer whose head is constantly filled with thoughts of sex, which makes him act solely on desire and instinct. In that sense, he’s the perfect star of an 18+ title.

She’s a powerful mage, but in the four months Rance has owned her, he’s used her for endless housework, random tasks, and sex.

The girl who runs the weapon shop, "Lost Hope," in Leazas.

Quiet and not very assertive. She has no real interest in her business and isn’t all that good at dealing with customers, but she’s friends with Patty.

She’s attacked by ruffians every so often (including Rance), but she always seems to make it out okay somehow.

Patty the Summer

The girl who runs the beach-themed item shop, "Baltic," in Leazas. It’s an item shop, but it looks the perfect place to visit in the summer. It has shaved ice, but it’s an item shop. Unfortunately, she doesn’t seem to have any plans to pick one or the other.

She’s never been to an actual beach before, so it’s her dream to go one day.

The princess of the Kingdom of Leazas, which is the wealthiest nation in the world.

Final words:

Rance 01 - Hikari o Motomete - is an action-adventure ero-RPG about the journey of a perverted but most powerful warrior of the universe. Rance has always been the most nightmarish pervert, wanting to possess every girl in his path. It is his adventures that the player follows.
