The story is probably the real weak aspect of Happy Summer. It is about a middle-aged man who ends up living with his “family” as he tries to improve his life and find love. I hate to be too negative about something that someone has clearly worked really hard on, but the story is just flat out boring. It is long winded, makes very little sense, and did not grab me at all, I found myself skipping through the dialogue and then just asking myself, “why am I even playing this?”.

A Kind Of Plastic Look

Visually, Happy Summer is a game that kind of does a bait and switch. Most of the art is of the super hot looking daughter, but she ends up not being the main love interest. The characters and the animation are decent enough, but the whole game, especially the plastic looking characters. It is hard to explain, but they have this strange plastic look to them that feels very unnatural. Also, the lewd content here is very, very lacking the tease scenes are actually pretty good and have some good and cinematic camera angles, but the whole time I played the game, I did actually see a sex scene.

To go along with the story and the gameplay that did not really do it for me, the gameplay of Happy Summer leaves a lot to be desired to. Have you played a lewd sand box style game before?
