D.mon Games released a new game called NPC Tales: The Shopkeeper and the version is 0.34. The game’s story is about A tech demo that offers a glimpse into a larger project centred around the concept of free use fantasy where reality blurs with gaming mechanics, and NPCs come to life in unexpected ways. As the player, you find yourself immersed in a universe where other characters behave like typical NPCs, responding only when game mechanics are triggered. However, as the player you can transcend these limitations and interact with the world in ways beyond mere gameplay.

Mechanics:

Mixing free use mechanics with rpg elements, players will progress trough the story and interact with characters where they can engage in intimate actions.This demo is a preview of the mechanics planned to be implemented in the full game.It currently futures one character with most of the planned mechanics for the full game. The full game will feature multiple characters, story and more rpg mechanics.Develop your thief skills to steal from NPC's without being noticed, learn spells to interact more with other characters, increase your charm stats to seduce other characters and more  mechanics like these are planned!

Hey everyone!

The latest public update for The Shopkeeper demo is finally here!

This version introduces a new mechanic that replaces the old restrain spell. The original is being re branded as a summoning spell, while the new restrain spell adds new bdsm poses to the characters . For now, it’s only available for the Shopkeeper in both her shop and work scenes, and all prior interactions have been implemented in the new poses.

NOTE: To receive the new restrain spell, you need to finish either the BJ or the S*X scene with Rory, at which point she will offer a trade for her gear back. Just make sure she offers the spell.

For anyone playing after the early access version, the main changes since are primarily bug fixes and polish. I've added some additional expressions to the restrain interactions, tweaked some animations and added extra body fluids.

For anyone wondering about the gap in updates, other then some personal stuff impeding progress, I've been working on a new demo, featuring The Adventurer, Clover, to test out new mechanics and am aiming to deliver a more polished version that will later be implemented in the main game. It's currently still a early build and some basic mechanics have been implemented. Like The Shopkeeper, The Adventurer demo will have a public releases later on when there is a bit more content available for you to experience. In the mean time, Work in Progress builds are available for those who want a early peek on Patreon.

I will admit that I am a little worried about the way that AI is taking over, have people learned nothing from Terminator? However, NPC Tales: The Shopkeeper is a game that is made with a helping hand from an AI program. As far as I am aware, it is mostly for the art, but to be fair, this is one of the better AI assisted lewd games that I have come across. Some lewd games made with the help of AI are so freaking weird, but had I not known for sure that this was made with the help of AI, I do not think that I would have actually had any idea that AI was anything to do with this.

As the developer has said that NPC Tales: The Shopkeeper is more of a tech demo, you are probably not going to be surprised to learn that there is not much in the way of a story in this current build of the game. From what I could gather, the idea is that we work in a shop in a fantasy land and we basically are tasked with helping the NPCs that call this place home as well as feeling up the shopkeeper. There is a bit of stuff the developer has written about how they want the story to be about NPCs and their lives, but as of me writing this, there is none of that or any real story in the game.

What actually drew me to NPC Tales: The Shopkeeper and made me want to give it a try was the titular shopkeeper babe. She has a bit of Zelda from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild about her that I thought was cute. Actually, she is one of those characters that walks the fine line between being cute and straight up hot. The AI assisted art looks great for the most part and even in this early stage, this is a very good looking game. There is a bit of animation here in the groping and banging that you can do and the combat has a tiny bit of animation too. In all, I liked the bright and colorful style of the game and I am excited to see what other characters are added to the game.

Conclusion:

NPC Tales: The Shopkeeper is a project with cute hand-drawn graphics for an adult audience of players. The product departs from the usual understanding of a visual novel with a choice system and various factors. In front of gamers is already a practically full-fledged role-playing project with resources, parameters, decision-making, free movement around locations within a well-developed scenario, and so on. Beautiful pictures, many NPCs, a fantasy world, development, spicy scenes, animation and excellent prospects for the development of the entire concept make the entertainment a must-see for fans of the category.
