The difficulty is acceptable, really good progression, and it's a genuinely sincere attempt at implementing AI into a video game.

The good:1. Decent story; it doesn't constantly get in the way of gameplay, and the setting is rather interesting.2. Arts; the art that is actually made by Kaneko is really good.3. Gameplay in combat is decent, and it really rewards you when your deck works.4. F2P friendly. Yes, paying does get you to progress, I think the game is a little bit more grind-heavy without the pass. However, it feels nicely balanced with it, and there's really no need to pay anything more than that.5. I personally found pulling the AI slop cards fun because theres no telling what will you get, in a traditional gacha game you obviously has to chase the highest rarity within the banner, but in this game everything is random, so getting a good looking card with good effects are really special stuffs, and without the rarity being that big a part of it, I found that I can enjoy these gacha mechanics way more.

The bad:1. Still too much AI art, if they wanted to use AI monster sprites, the least they can do is make them in a similar art style.2. The progression is rather restricted. You do get decently stronger after each run, but whether paying or not, you don't get to hand-pick your upgrades or perks. So luck plays a big part in your progression.3. Content limits. The two characters available are fun enough to fiddle around with, but it seems that there's a rather limited amount of floors to explore.4. There is an interaction portion where players can vote on AI cards and Kaneko will "refine" whichever AI card gets the highest votes. The first card was out, and I gotta say, if the card was actually voted out due to popularity, it would not require that much refinement. And Kaneko's "refined" version just came off as really lazy to me.All in all I think the game is probably good for a few months if you are playing on phone, on steam there are obviously better roguelikes around. (although imo not much of them are as snapy as this one, this game has slay the spire level of simplicity, one click and you are in.)

The game is pretty good. Battles are turn based with cards that you'll randomly get and upgrade ala Slay the Spire. The perma unlocks sometimes offer permanent bonus upgrades, or unlocks for items that really do help you next run. The game is fun, the art is fine, I really have no problem with it considering you don't have to pay a single cent to have fun.

A lot of buzz has been bought by COLOPL for this game. A lot of hype surrounds its usage of lapsed artist, Kaneko Kazuma, and how he's "back." Nothing could be further from the truth. The game's art is generally quite awful. Anything not done by Kaneko seems to have been generated, which is most of the game's art assets. The gameplay is incredibly boring and gets same-y and tired after an hour. I can only imagine just how much worse it gets after the opening hour(s). I will never know, thankfully.A narrative surrounding an "AI" Kaneko creating generated artwork in order to mimic and subsume Kaneko and artists as a whole does not justify the usage of generated art, especially at the terminal velocity of mobile slurry content mills. From the looks of things, Kaneko is barely involved outside of marketing, main character design, and some card art. How exactly is an older celebrity w/ a known nickname going to be subsumed and erased by an image generator to begin w/? Capitalism is what's "erasing" artists, not a programme.It feels almost banal to say to a COLOPL game is bad, but this is like almost as bad as Tales of Luminaria was. Abysmal stuff everyone. Pack it up.
