The premise of Mad Island is that we are on some kind of fancy boat and it ends up hitting a huge ass rock and we are shipwrecked. The trailer for this game when I saw the shipwreck scene legit made me laugh as it was so over the top. Now the game has two protagonists, a man and a woman, you start off as the woman, but you eventually find the man and then things really open up. We are basically trying to find our friends and then get off the island, but we are not the only people on this island.

The depth of the gameplay on offer in Mad Island was very impressive and to be honest with you, the version I have played is an early access version. This is a survival game where you need to do stuff like fish, grow food, build, expand, fight, and of course have lots and lots of sex. There is always something that needs your attention in this game and if it sounds too overwhelming do not worry, that is where the island natives come into play. You can either make them your slaves and rule with an iron fist, or you can get to know them and grow a community. I found the whole experience to be addictive and interesting and I am very interested to see what they add to the game as even in early access there is a great deal of content here already.

The most surprising aspect of Mad Island for me is the way the story can so radically different. The natives on this island can be basically yours to try and romance and help or to eat and just have sex with no matter if they want it or not. I was shocked at how brutal you could be in this game, but that did not appeal to me so I tried to play it more as a good and chill guy. However, I can see the fun in playing as a total psycho who just does whatever the heck they want. I would not say that the game is super story driven, it is more about you creating your own story and experience to live through.
