Fascinating Storyline 

The fog slowly settled in. In a small town in the off-season, the streets deserted, unnoticed. Some called in sick, and no one thought much of it. Just then, John and his colleague, Carly, were at work when they noticed an unusually thick fog surrounding their office. Cell phone signal was lost, and the phone lines were down. Almost instantly, they were cut off from the outside world. When they went outside to investigate, the thick fog burned their exposed skin and made them nauseous. Trapped, they had to uncover the truth and find a way to escape.

Engaging Gameplay 

One of the key elements of TOXICity is what we call "micro-choices," where you can respond to conversations without significantly altering the scene. Your comments don't trigger alternate paths; they're simply heard (and may receive a brief reply). However, your comments will alter other survivors' perceptions of you through one of five attributes.

Love – A measure of a character's romantic feelings for the protagonist. Cultivate this by engaging in activities that involve intimacy or affection. Do you show kindness and care when they're in trouble? Or do you turn your back on them?

Friends – A measure of your friendship with other characters. Increasing this value will alter conversations and potentially unlock scene variations that could lead to romantic events.

Desire – Represents the sexual tension between characters. Even if they're not romantically involved, this attribute may reveal moments you wouldn't normally see.

Trust – Does the character trust the protagonist's decision-making ability? Are they trustworthy enough to follow their lead? This is a statistic that can alter conversations and scenes.

Anxiety – Is the character stressed by the events happening around them? Can the protagonist convince them that everything will be alright, or that they're safe for now? This is corrected data that can change dialogue and scenes.

For rendering/animation graphics, we currently use Honey Select 2 Studio. While I wouldn't say we're experts in HS1, we produced 8-900 renders and over 30 animations in a month using it, so migrating to a new program required some learning. While the UI is similar, many plugins and modules are different or missing in the new Studio, so we had to find ways to achieve the same experience through different means. This required some on-the-job training.

I love your work. I just finished your game a few weeks ago and loved the story, especially because the ending allows Jukie and Sydney to come find you. I couldn't help but play it through twice. I was also a little surprised, because I always thought the protagonist would eventually marry Carol, but it turns out that if Jukie and Sydney follow you, the protagonist will eventually marry Julie. Now I'm curious about your new work, "Toxicty," and I love it. Honestly, the story is so wonderful, so I wanted to ask, when is the next update?

From what I understand, the Director's Cut includes an "occasionally" ending with Julie and Hana as the main love interests. So, besides maintaining a good relationship with them, the ending depends mainly on a certain choice at a specific moment. I'm sure that if you chose "stay in bed with Carol" the night after the main attack on Hana's house, the ending will focus on the partner with the higher "love point" score, which doesn't include Hana or Julie. I personally really like the new ending for Julie, if you choose "Get up and check out the staff quarters." While she doesn't appear as often as the others, it's my favorite ending for her. If you don't choose to go to the main house or the staff quarters after the battle, the easiest ending is probably Carol's, as she offers more opportunities for intimacy and "favorability." However, if you consistently prioritize spending time with others over Carol, or if you make repeated poor decisions in your relationship, you could end up with someone else. The protagonist's story with Carol is central to the plot, and it's likely only with her that a close relationship is inevitable, so having her front and center at the end is fitting and a key plan. However, I appreciate that all relationships have depth, all potential partners have personality, and even if you choose the polyamorous path, the ending isn't uniform, but rather varies based on your choices.

The difference with TOXICITY compared to Now and Then is that, in some ways, I feel unsure about my choices, as in this new game, intimacy is less open, and unlike in previous games, I feel like a fraud for having sex with all the female characters (a feeling softened by the MC's uncertainty about the depth of these relationships or whether they'll continue). I'm also unsure if there will be symbiotic polyamory by the end, or if such an attempt will fail miserably on the MC's face.

Does anyone know of a walkthrough or guide? I have two locked replay modes, one for Lara Croft: Time of Crisis and the other for Carly: My Own Decision, and no matter what I choose, I can't unlock them.

Final Verdict

TOXICity is a character-centric, narrative-driven experience, built on a smaller scale than our previous titles, designed to be a more intimate experience where you get to know your companions over time. These aren't people you've already built relationships with, making it easier for them to like you from day one. Sure, some are your colleagues and you know them, but you have to talk to them and consider their perspectives when making choices. You have to earn their trust, because if they survive, they have a life to return to.
