Even if you don't pay, the game provides enough things to make it enjoyable. It's really satisfying to master the mechanics, complete challenges, collect the black (although I'd argue they are greenish) coins and of course, collect rewards for it! Every day the game gives you something new to do. You don't have to link Nintendo Account unlike Mario Kart Tour. And there are no ads, so nothing is all that interruptive. It does make you wait for things, but that's just how mobile games are I guess.

Has the charm and entertainment of a normal Mario game. There's more to it than just running through familiar places, different modes and all. I bought the full world pack myself years ago, and I find it worth it. Without it, it was still fun. I didn't feel I needed to buy the pack, but it def feels like a proper, full fledged Mario bros game with it.

great game! amazing gameplay, levels, and the final boss is great! all of the events, and Being able to decorate your world to restore the castle makes the game much more enjoyable! I can see why people are so eager to pay for the rest of the game, but it really makes up for the game being free. In my opinion, I think the game is worth at least $15.00, and I think the money spent on the rest of the game was worth it. Great game overall.
