Introduction

Five Nights at Freddy’s is a highly anticipated horror adventure game. Players take on the role of a security guard at Freddy’s Pizza. Facing the unusual behavior of Freddy Bear and other electronic dolls at night, players must observe the store's nighttime activities from a small monitoring room, watching the dolls' every move to protect themselves. Players need to create various disturbances in the store to distract the dolls and solve various puzzles to uncover the truth behind the dolls' anomalies. Will you be able to survive these five difficult nights?

Gameplay of Five Nights at Freddy’s:

The player controls Mike Schmidt, the night guard at the fictional Freddy Fazbear's Pizza restaurant. The objective of the game is to survive a whole shift, which lasts from midnight to 6 AM (8 minutes and 55 seconds in real-time), while avoiding the four animatronics who roam the restaurant after hours. Mike is forced to spend each night in the security office, which serves as a base of operations. The player has a monitor at their disposal to scroll through the security cameras and see where the animatronics are, although the cameras are grainy and poorly lit, and the camera in the kitchen only provides an audio feed.

The animatronics each have unique movement patterns and will attempt to get inside the office through one of two hallways on either side of the room. The player can activate hall lights to check if an animatronic is outside and shut either of the two doors to keep animatronics out. However, the player has limited power each night, which is displayed via a percentage in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Power will drain over time, although using the monitor, lights, and doors will consume more power, and if the player runs out, all of these features will deactivate for the rest of the night. Freddy himself will then appear in the office, eventually attacking unless the clock hits 6 AM first. If an animatronic does enter the office, it results in them jumpscaring the player and taking them to the Game Over screen before bringing them back to the title screen.

The game's main campaign is split into five increasingly difficult levels, or "nights." Finishing Night 5 will complete the story and unlock an extra-challenging Night 6, and clearing that will unlock a customizable Night 7 that allows the player to adjust each animatronics' difficulty.

Features of Five Nights at Freddy’s:

Animatronics with changing behavior: Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy do not move the same way each night. Patterns escalate, routes shift, and timing windows tighten, which keeps you scanning for cues rather than memorizing a script. As a result, awareness and steady reactions matter more than reflex alone.

Touch controls tuned for speed: Five Nights at Freddy's uses simple taps for swapping camera views, checking door lights, and sealing doors. Inputs are sized for small screens, so you can act quickly when a threat approaches. Short animations and clear sound cues support fast decisions during tense moments.

Short nights with rising difficulty: Each night lasts only a few minutes, making quick runs possible when time is limited. Progress raises pressure through more active routes and tighter power margins, which invites repeat attempts. This pace fits mobile use, whether you play a single night or a longer session.

Resource management drives every choice: You monitor activity from the office and decide when to check feeds, switch lights, or close entry points. Each action draws from a fixed power supply, so careless inputs can leave you exposed before sunrise. This structure turns small decisions into the difference between a clear night and a sudden failure.

Strategies of Five Nights at Freddy’s:

Wait in the beginning of the game! The characters will not pursue you for some time. Rather than checking the camera feed immediately, it is best to just relax for a moment. This will conserve power for later on when it is actually necessary. It is good to wait until the 'end call' option pops up at the top left of the screen. Then, access the camera feed and watch out for those characters! However, be careful. Depending on how long you wait and what night you are on, Foxy may be able run to you and kill you before you drop down to 90% power.

Stay calm! The more afraid you are, the worse you will do. If you are constantly scared, you will not think as rationally and may use more power than necessary. If you want to make the game less scary, it is best to play with the lights in your room on, the volume set to low and to imagine that they are going to hug you instead of killing you.

Know your enemies! Go to the other pages on this wiki to learn more about each character and how to deal with them. Bonnie is fast and aggressive, but easy to detect and stop. Bonnie only comes to you from your left side. Chica is slower than Bonnie and less aggressive. Chica is easy to detect and stop and only comes to you from your right side. Foxy is extremely fast and extremely aggressive when he leaves his post (the Pirate's Cove). He only comes to you from your left side. The less you look at the camera, the faster Foxy leaves his post. When you see that he is gone, immediately close your left door. Freddy is extremely aggressive, but slow. He takes his time to get to you, as he doesn't like to be seen. He can be heard when he is in the kitchen, as the music you hear when your power runs out plays when he is in the area. He mostly comes to your right side. These are the basics for each character. Check the actual character pages to learn more.

Be quick! The faster you are at flicking the lights on and off, closing the doors and viewing the camera feed, the less power you waste.

Know when to restart! If you are at 60% power and it's not even 2 AM, it would be best to restart. Set markers for yourself. It is good to get to 1 AM before the power reaches 83%. It is good to get to 2 AM before it reaches 66%. It is good to get to 3 AM before it reaches 50%. It is good to get to 4 AM before it reaches 33%. It is good to get to 5 AM before it reaches 16%. If you go past your marker, then just restart to save yourself time and effort.

Bonus tip: If you want to check cameras, and you don’t want to die from Freddy, just close right door and then check cameras (Or if you want to check Foxy), and when you leave cameras, open right door. Do this once again when you want to check cameras.(Also to stop Foxy you don't necessarily need to check CAM 1C, it's been proven that other cameras stop him just so long as you keep checking them)

Player Comments of Five Nights at Freddy’s :

This game combines strategy, suspense, and enjoyment in a way I have never seen. There wasn't a moment where I felt like I wasn't being watched. This game has the abilityto be played over and over and never get boring. Earlier nights like 1 and 2 can be boring, but night 4 had me ripping out my hair. Overall, Scott did an amazing job with developingit and it's worth the 3$!

I had so much fun playing this every time I do. My only problem is it costs money to play, but its worth the 2.99$ 10/10 recommend playing this game. There will be jump scaresand a lot & I mean A LOT of static. This game involves strategy, skill, and jump scares. The anamatronics are cool and can get you off your chair. If you're looking for a coolhorror game that needs skill and strategy, this is the game for you. 5 stars.

I love fanf and I don't have enough money for a pc but this game I was confused why itfelt just like the original one and I have some extra credit because my parents when I waslittle we get one game I Watch Game play of all of them and fnaf 2 is to hard 3 is notscary and easy fnaf 4 is just way to hard so this is perfectly ballence it's not too scary it'snot too hard it's perfect and to leave it off on a note JUST PLAY THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!?

10 out of 10 I really liked it. It wasn't easy. It wasn't hard. I like the animatronic it givesyou a beginning of the rest of the games so you can actually play those games because ifyou just go onto a game too, you would immediately die cause you don't know how togame works 10 out of 10 they're not that hard to defeat and it just feels so satisfyinggetting that 6 AM thing.

Final Thoughts:

The controls in Five Nights at Freddy's are very simple. You can close the security doors at any time to protect yourself, but this will consume a lot of electricity. Likewise, you can move the surveillance camera whenever you want, but this also uses electricity, though not as much.Five Nights at Freddy's is a scary game that, despite its rather unusual premise, manages to give more than a few frights. In this free version, though, you can only play two nights. But trust us - that's more than enough for a scare.
