RogueWeight is a unique adult role-playing visual game where players take on the role of the protagonist, Alice, venturing deep into a perilous dungeon environment to engage in intense combat against powerful monster bosses. RogueWeight presents players with vivid and exquisite anime-style pixel art visuals, featuring flexible control mechanics that allow players to explore various regions of the map and scavenge for random food items to replenish their stamina. The game offers a wealth of combat challenges and imaginative "devouring" mechanics, delivering an addictive dungeon-crawling experience you won't want to put down.

Attractive Storyline of RogueWeight

Deep within the ruins, Alice must battle her way through a dungeon teeming with colossal monsters. Will Alice conquer the abyss, or will she meet her demise by being devoured by these very creatures?

A short-form roguelike game created for the 2024 Gain Jam game development competition, completed in just two weeks. Players take on the role of Erith, exploring randomly generated dungeons packed with all sorts of... edible items! As long as you can stomach it, you can eat almost anything found within this dungeon!

Wonderful Features of RogueWeight

Alice is absolutely adorable, and her animations are incredibly well-crafted—what’s even more impressive is that she maintains such charming animation quality despite the sheer variety of physical transformations her character rig has to handle!

Furthermore, the gameplay is super fun—balancing the need to keep her constantly expanding while avoiding the loss of defensive capabilities due to over-satiation kept me on my toes the entire time. In the final stages, once I finally possessed enough defensive power to go toe-to-toe with enemies, the sensation of using "bottleneck tactics" to trap and corner them felt truly fantastic.

Conclusion

The game has now been officially renamed "RogueWeight" (replacing "Grasp Descension," which was my original working title). The judging period seems to be drawing to a close, so I figured now would be the perfect time to submit an update for the game (and this time, it's for real!). I do plan to develop a full version of this game in the future, but for the time being, I’m working on a few other projects to help diversify my portfolio.
