Angry Birds Go! is a kart racing game utilising 3D graphics. As a bird of their choice, the player competes in downhill races and challenges, which begin by launching their go-kart from a slingshot. Go! includes multiple game modes: "Race" is a competition against multiple other characters, "Time Trial" is a single-player mode where the player must reach the finish line before time runs out, "Versus" is a race against one other character, and "Fruit Splat" requires the player to collect a set number of fruit before the finish.

Each bird has a singular power-up that can be activated a finite number of times. More birds are unlocked by defeating them in boss races in each level. The speed of the kart cannot be controlled, while steering can be done via motion controls or arrows on the touchscreen. Karts take damage upon impacts and can be upgraded, the latter of which alters its appearance. Coins—which are gained either in races or with crystals, which in turn require real money to purchase—must be spent to upgrade karts. Races and challenges can only be entered if the player's kart has a sufficient power level, which can be increased by upgrading. Characters become tired after being used five times; their energy can be restored by either waiting or spending crystals collected during races.Additionally, Go! is compatible with Telepods, toys-to-life figures by Hasbro, which allow the player to scan the corresponding kart and character into the game.A Jenga mode can be unlocked either via a code included with a pirate ship-themed Angry Birds Jenga board game or through an in-app purchase.[8] In Jenga mode, the player launches their kart down a ramp and into blocks and pigs.

Modes of Angry Birds Go!:

VS. Race: The player will be racing against seven opponents controlled by an AI. At first, those opponents will be Minion Pigs, though they will be replaced with characters the player has already unlocked. Said characters will also use their abilities to get an advantage. After winning in VS. Race five times, the player will be given tasks to complete in said mode.

Time Boom: The player will be in an individual race, with the circuits being filled with glass and wooden blocks. They will have to pass through these obstacles and get to the finish line before a bomb explodes. After winning in Time Boom five times, the player will be given tasks to complete in said mode.

Fruit Splat: The player has to collect fruits (or ice cream in Sub Zero) to fill a gauge before they get to the finish line. Sometimes, Minion Pigs will collect the fruits so that the player is unable to collect them. Once the gauge has been filled, all fruits will be replaced with Bird Coins. After winning in Fruit Splat five times, the player will be given tasks to complete in said mode.

Versus: The player will compete against a random opponent. It is divided into three difficulties: Easy, Intermediate and Hard, each with a tougher or weaker AI. The harder the race is, the more Bird Coins will be awarded to the player after winning, giving players with the Coin Doubler an advantage. Was removed in the 2.0 update.

Champion Race: Similar to Versus. It is unlocked after winning a race in VS. Race, Time Bomb and Fruit Splat once. The player has to compete against an opponent and win three races. Once said action is done, the opponent will be added to the character roaster, and will replace the Minion Pigs in VS. Race. Also, the player will be unable to play in said mode after the three races are won.

Strategies of Angry Birds Go!:

If you're going to buy anything, get the coin doubler: Angry Birds Go! is one of those games that makes it very easy to spend a lot of money on in-app purchases if you aren't careful. If you decide you're willing to shell out some cash, do it on something that you continuously get rewarded from. The coin doubler is $6.99 but you keep it forever and every single coin you collect counts as two. That means you rack up your total twice as fast.

Drive on the inside of the track whenever possible: Obviously the best route is always the shortest ones. Taking tight turns and staying on the inside of the track can shave off distance and overall time. Obviously if there's a gem on the outside of the track and you have enough of a lead or enough time to pick it up, by all means do so. But if you're racing against the clock or having a hard time passing an opponent, staying on the inside helps you gain some ground.

Time your power ups right: You're limited on power ups and using them at the right time makes the most sense. That means don't use a speed boost right before you're going to go around a corner. The odds of you slamming into a wall and wasting it are high. Instead, use it in a wide open space. Also look for cues on power ups like bubbles that elevate you. If you see a stream of coins in the air, that's probably a good time to use it.

Aim matters when you're launching off: When you launch off from the starting block, make sure you aim well. Normally I aim for the inside of the track whenever possible. Depending on how you aim, it could be the difference between starting off in the lead or getting stuck on an opponent and not being able to make up the time.

Upgrade acceleration and top speed before anything else: When you're upgrading your kart, spend your coins on acceleration and top speed first. These are what can give you the edge in harder challenges. I've found focusing on these two boosts to allow you to level up and advance faster as opposed to upgrading evenly and possibly losing challenges due to faster opponents.
