Introduction
Atlantic Fleet is a turn-based naval strategy game based on the Battle of the Atlantic during World War II. Players can choose to command either the Allied forces or the German Navy and team up with friends for battles involving up to 10-versus-10 engagements. You must command various warships, aircraft carriers, and submarines to complete mission objectives, adapting flexibly to the battlefield situation to destroy enemy vessels or transport convoys and secure victory. The game is completely ad-free and features a built-in editor that allows players to unleash their creativity by designing their own naval campaigns; these can be shared with the community, inviting feedback and gameplay from others, which in turn fosters inspiration for creating even better levels.
Gameplay of Atlantic Fleet:
This game has a tutorial in English and difficult controls, so many people quit before even starting. But for those people, let's learn about the basics among the basics. Basic settings are described separately.
Move: There are three factors to consider when moving a ship. You need to set the movement speed and direction of the hull using the two boxes at the bottom left.First, in the vertical box at the top left, you can select full speed forward, slow forward, stop, and reverse. Basically, since it is full-speed forward, there is inertia, so even if you select reverse, the ship will not immediately go backwards. In a horizontal box, you can determine the direction by moving the arrow. The key can be bent up to 30 degrees. If you click the box under the move button, there will be None and Smoke. None literally means you just move without any other action, and Smoke moves while spreading a smoke screen that makes it impossible for enemies to observe. However, when you select Smoke, the ship loses one attack opportunity. And when you return to your turn, the smoke screen disappears. Now click the move button and the ship will move.If you want to leave the battlefield, you can either run far enough that the enemy can't see your allies, or cover your eyes with a smoke screen and then leave. However, you must turn on that option in the game system. In the case of attack, each hull is different, so let's get to know it step by step.
Battleship: Basically, it uses guns and torpedoes. The number of ammunition is the same as the amount carried by the actual ship, and there is no need to worry about running out of shells without knowing torpedoes. The game is over before the shells carrying hundreds of rounds run out.Be aware that there are angles at which you cannot launch naval guns or torpedoes. It is a structural problem of the warship, so it can not be helped. But that's not all, the wind blows on the battlefield . You can change it in the settings. Since flying shells are greatly affected by the direction and angle of the wind, this must be taken into account. If you want to get used to it, you can master it through practice, or for accuracy, it's better to click the map tab in the upper left corner and press the protractor tab that looks like an A to check the firing point, impact point, and whether or not you hit. However, keep in mind that only the last 6 shots are recorded. The conclusion is intuition If you don't like it, let's use an aircraft carrier.
Aircraft carrier: Aircraft carriers are used to launch planes to attack. The aircraft carrier spends two turns before making its first attack.1st turn: Choose the plane you want and put it on standby.(The type of plane is bomber and attack aircraft, and you can decide what type of weapon to use)Second turn: Take off the plane. After going through all of this process, continuous attacks are possible. Basically, the attack is carried out from the airplane perspective. Here, you have to play with a feeling that cannot be explained in words.Since the enemy tries to shoot down (aircraft) with an anti -aircraft gun, absolute luck is at work, but of course, the anti -aircraft ability is higher, such as battleships and regular carriers. In addition, the timing of dropping bombs is very important to hit the enemy. If you just pass by or attack too early, you can make only the water. When you lower the bomb's visibility to about 30 degrees, press dive when the nose touches the bow, and drop it when you feel like it goes down a little.
Submarine: It uses torpedoes and small caliber naval guns (deck guns).Torpedoes: Basically the same as the torpedoes of combat ships. The reloading interval varies depending on the type of ship and is filled by one shot. German submarines fire 1 shot per 4 turns for Type 7 and 9, and 1 shot per turn for Type 21.Naval gun: It can be fired only when it is above the surface of the water. It is the same as the method of operating a combat ship. However, since it can only fire one small-diameter shell, the only enemies it can deal with are unarmed transport ships or ultra-small frigates. If it is night, you can use it to fire flares from a distance from the battlefield, but if not, just use it as a last-ditch effort when you run out of torpedoes. Germany's Type XXI submarine, which does not have a deck gun, is an exception. The moment this guy comes to the surface, all he can say is, “Please kill me.” This guy has a fast underwater speed, so when you run out of torpedoes, just run away in the water or dive as deep as possible and leave the battlefield.

Features of Atlantic Fleet:
Realistic Ballistics and Physics System: It allows users to engage in combat where ships sink based on realistic buoyancy physics and targeted subsystem damage rather than simple hit-point bars.
Deep Strategic and Tactical Simulation: This tool features a complex blend of strategic planning and tactical decision-making, covering a wide range of assets including submarines, carrier operations, and aircraft.
Historical Accuracy and Content Depth: The app provides a comprehensive library of 60 historical ship classes and 13 playable aircraft set within a WWII Battle of the Atlantic context.
Dynamic Campaign Engine: It allows users to experience a full dynamic campaign covering the timeline from 1939 to 1945, providing high replayability and immersion.

Strategies of Atlantic Fleet:
The wing size is 4 for escort carriers and 8 for fleet carriers, not 2 and 4 as stated in the manual
Although the manual states 24 aircraft embarked for escort carriers and 48 for fleet carriers (reasonably historically accurate), only one third of that number can be operational at any one time.
Only a maximum of one bomber 'wing' and one fighter 'wing' can be active at any time. Both wings may be active at the same time however.
The LAUNCH button really means "do the selected air operation", with the exact air operation being the one selected in the button below, eg Ready - Launch - Air Strike - Recover
Initial air strike selection targets the carrier itself. This is confusing and generally unhelpful. To attack an enemy ship you must select one in the 3D view or on the tactical map and then clicking its name in the top right
Fighters without Bombs fitted can still attack vessels. They do so using Guns (strafing)
The initial attack bearing shown is the direct bearing straight from the carrier to the target
Smoke between the carrier and the target will prevent an air attack being launched in the 3D view
A workaround to this is to select the target in the map view, return to the 3D view and select the target with F2.
Alternatively, for a target previously targeted by the spotting carrier prior to being obstructed by smoke, click on the label 'Smoke' that appears in the top right, where the name of the currently targeted ship normally appears.
If the carrier is itself emitting Smoke it can't perform any air operations, including air strikes
The manual is not quite correct to say only one air strike can be launched per turn. Provided enough carriers are available, each carrier can direct one carrier airstrike per turn. So potentially ten airstrikes could be made per turn, from ten carriers.
A Fighter CAP wing will shoot down about 50% of incoming airstrikes. This seems to be true regardless of the wing size. (Test: 4 and 8 CAP gun-armed Seafire fighters, vs Stuka attacks). Attackers that survive CAP are then engaged by AAA.
CAP itself doesn't seem to ever suffer any attritional losses of aircraft while defending.
However CAP effectiveness seems to decrease over time. Possibly, after - or every time? - there have been more attacks received than there are CAP aircraft, the chance to defend is halved?
Submerged submarines may not be targeted by airstrikes unless they have been spotted by sonar-equipped friendly escort vessels.
You will always see 5 aircraft on deck after the Ready operation, even though the 'wing'size is never 5, it is always either 4 or 8.
It seems likely that you never run out of aircraft, regardless of losses to AAA. Certainly you can lose more aircraft to AAA as are listed as carried in total by the carrier, with no effect on your ability to deploy wings of aircraft from that carrier.

Player Comments of Atlantic Fleet:
Atlantic Fleet is SUPER fun if you're looking for a not too complicated naval warfare game. It's fairly dated in multiple aspects and in the Battle of the Atlantic campaign, about 3-4 years in, glitches start occurring that make the game borderline unplayable. I'm not sure how to fix these glitches and I've read other comments describing similar problems so idk (If anyone knows a solution please let me know). All in all this game is a fun and simple naval strategy game and I do recommend.
This all started as a tablet game named Pacific Fleet. Atlantic Fleet on the tablet not only switched the ocean, but improved the mechanics, graphics, and gameplay of an already fun and good looking game. Now bring all that great stuff to the PC. I play on a 1080p 46" LCD TV. It is beautiful to watch. The turn based gameplay style allows you to think about your tactics and relax rather than trying to race against the AI to get commands to all of your units in time. If the game has a flaw, it is its treatment of aircraft carriers. The whole point of carriers is to engage before you get close enough for battleships to make a difference. As this is more of a game than a simulation, its not really a problem as long as you don't mind having your aircraft carriers ripped up by battleships. Mix battleships and submarines, and you can win against just about anything. But you made need fast destroyers with sonar to hunt other submarines, and even then it is risky. I was a submarine sonar technician for 8 years. With patience, I can consistently win with submarines. If the setup is bad, disengage. If the setup is good, line up for torpedo shots and enjoy the graphics of Bismark or other ships sinking beneath the waves. As long as you don't expect aircraft carriers to dominate combat, this is pretty much a perfect game. For $10, I challenge you to find a more fun/challenging WW2 naval combat game that looks beautiful. I suggest playing wiht music enabled. It helps set the tone.
Can't really go wrong with Atlantic Fleet considering it costs £7 - WW2 turn based naval combat featuring the Royal Navy and the Kreigsmarine; no frills, no fancy GFX but addictive and fairly satisfying when you sink the enemy! (Its nothing like World of Warships, you do not use the mouse to aim - but instead you interact with a very simple fire control system using range and elevation, you then spot the fall of your shells and adjust as required - until Kaboom!) Comes highly recommended to anyone who enjoys turning sailing things into sinking things!
Conclusion:
Dive into the intense world of naval warfare in a game that expertly blends strategic planning with tactical combat. Set during the Battle of the Atlantic, you take command of either the Allies or the German Kriegsmarine, navigating through the complexities of WWII naval engagements. Players can command a diverse fleet including surface ships, submarines, and aircraft, focusing on protecting vital convoys or launching aggressive submarine attacks.
