A Land Of Science

One of the things that I think is really cool about Tales of the Bizarre: BLACKOUT is the story. The idea here is that we live in an age of science and in this age of science, most people have forgotten about the monsters, magic, and fantasy stuff that the world was made of before. However, these types of things are still there and can cause trouble and that is where we come in. We play as a hot chick called, Yui and we work for the church and we need to put a stop to these creatures from causing havoc in the world.

Things Getting Weird

I am someone who has a high tolerance for jank and on occasion, I even get a kick out of it and that is the case with the way the story is presented here in Tales of the Bizarre: BLACKOUT. You see, English is not the developer's first language, and while it is more than possible to get the gist of the story, there are some translation issues that kind of make things weird and quirky and I have to say, I found this pretty hilarious! While the premise of the story may be some kind of fantasy epic, the execution is weird and I have to say, I do not see that as a negative, it made playing the game kind of more fun.

Wait, It Gets Weirder

The story is weird, but the art in Tales of the Bizarre: BLACKOUT is even weirder. I am not sure if there is some kind of AI involved here, but the art certainly has a unique look to it. The actual game is done in a standard lewd RPG top down kind of style However, the portraits and the monster designs are kind of funky and weird. The gross monsters banging the cute girl does nothing for me. However, the girls have a cool look to them, there is something just “weird” and I like it. I also like how the character portraits that pop up have a bit of animation to them. The XXX stuff is ok, when we see Yui on her own, I love it. However, seeing gross goblins or weird taffy looking monsters have their way with her does nothing for me sexually, but I did find some of it pretty funny.

One Stat At A Time

One thing that is quite impressive is the stat system the gameplay of Tales of the Bizarre: BLACKOUT has. There are tons of stats that you need to work on in this game! You have your usual RPG stuff like crit rate, attack, magic, defense, and so on. However, you also have a bunch of secondary XXX stats for different body parts, your sex drive, perversion level, and more. It does mean there is a lot of grinding, but for those who do not like grinding, you can whack the game on easy and just plow through it. Yet, if you want to see most of the XXX content and see Yui get plowed, you will have to lose fights, also some stats are raised by doing the same sex scene over and over again.
