Reviews:

The premise of waking up in a younger body and being able to re-do things is the basic premise of Goodbye Eternity and it is something that I like. Going back to the 90s (including a scene with a Sega Dreamcast) is pretty damn awesome and I thought that what we were going to get was a dude just looking for revenge on those who wronged him, but there is a bit more depth than that here with different characters having their own stories and motivations.

The one aspect of the story in Goodbye Eternity that I feel is tacked on is the whole debt thing! Your dad was in debt to gangsters and now you need to pay it off. What is it with lewd games and having us inherit debt? It feels like they could have gotten rid of this element of the story and it probably would not have made a difference to be honest with you, the story would have perhaps been better for it.

We have a sandbox style lewd visual novel game in our hands here with Goodbye Eternity. You know the drill here, you click around the screen, go to different areas, talk to people, try to make the right choices, and so on. Even in the unfinished state, there are different routes the story can go. They have tried to make the gameplay a bit deeper with stat points and you having to make money to pay off the debt so I do give them credit for that. There are also these secret “stashes” you have to find, but this requires pretty much clicking every single pixel on the screen! To be fair, for a lewd sandbox game, the actual gameplay is not bad at all.

The best thing that Goodbye Eternity has going for it is the amazing art. The first time I saw gameplay of this game, I was in awe and thought that it was some kind of big budget console release! The character designs are fantastic, but so is the whole world, I got such a kick out of all the stuff from nearly 30 years ago in the game! However, the lewd content here is animated and some of the best animated lewd 2D style content that I have seen in a game!
