Trimr

Trimr is a powerful men's styling app. The application needs to access the user's device camera to scan their face, hairstyle, hair, and other features to create a suitable style. It also monitors the user's hair growth rate and when to perform haircuts. In short, if users want a haircut or beard trim, the app provides multiple templates that users can compare with their current hairstyle to make an appropriate choice. The app does not save user-uploaded photos, ensuring user privacy. If you want to try a new hairstyle but are worried it won't suit you, this app is worth a try.

Features

Evidence-Based Growth, Not Guessing

With regular scans, Trimr adjusts your actual growth rate based on each scan—taking the average of three measurement areas, so a single error won't affect the final result. It tells you how many millimeters you've grown since the last scan and predicts changes after one week, one month, or three months.

When it can't provide honest information, it remains silent. Scanning twice a day cannot accurately measure hair growth: facial hair grows approximately one-third of a millimeter per day, far less than the error in reading length from a photo. Trimr tells you the truth, not fabricate a number.

Why You'll Be Alert

You'll receive an alert when your beard length actually exceeds your target—not just two weeks later. Additionally, you'll receive weekly reminders for a rescan to ensure measurement accuracy.

Your Photos Always Belong to You

Your selfies are used for planning and will be deleted afterwards. Photos are only retained if you enable the "Keep My Scans" feature; disabling this feature deletes all photos we save. Stored photos are never public—each photo is only viewable by its respective account.

Five Languages

English, Dutch, German, French, and Turkish, including the alerts you receive.

FAQS

How accurate is the face shape detection?

Our model was trained on over 500,000 facial scans and achieved 94% classification accuracy across all seven face shapes. For best results, use a well-lit, front-facing photo with hair combed back. Each result also displays a confidence score, allowing you to understand the threshold of the classification result—you can manually change it to any face shape if you disagree.

Does it work for all hair types?

Yes. TRIMR considers hair texture—straight, wavy, curly, and bouncy—and adjusts its styling suggestions and product selection accordingly. The try-on studio covers a wide range of hairstyles, from buzz cuts and French shorts to afros and braids; the color studio covers 10 colors, from jet black to platinum blonde.

Will my photos be saved or shared?

No. Your selfies are used for analysis only and will never be sold or shared with third parties. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time in the deletion page or in the app's Settings.

User Reviews

Conclusion

The core function of this app is its ability to track hair growth speed in millimeters, enabling more personalized beard care. Trimr requires users to complete four guided selfies during setup to ensure the accuracy of the analysis and provide tailored suggestions. The app aims to enhance the user's grooming experience while emphasizing user control over their personal data, deleting facial scan data by default unless the user chooses to retain it. This focus on privacy and accuracy makes Trimr an ideal choice for those who value meticulous grooming.
