The best app. It gives me so much more confidence navigating cities as a solo female traveller. I especially appreciate the route main road options, costs being posted so you can keep to a budget. It's rarely wrong and when I go wrong it's usually my own navigation. The walking directions can be inaccurate as in Amsterdam for the ferry's it took me to the wrong place, but it makes travel so much easier. I also like that you can set a home base to navigate back to with ease. Great!!!

I love how this app shows so many travel options with the prices, that's super helpful! So far it's been accurate to the best of my knowledge, and it does show many routes for a journey, pretty much like Google Maps, and I find it focuses on giving you the fastest and most efficient routes possible. If anything could be added, I would suggest a 'walk less' option for Bus Mode, as at present it has it only for Mixed Travel Mode. Really pleased to have discovered this, it's superb!

This is an incredible app. the geolocation bith above ground and underground give precise location and distances that were very accurate. The connections with tram, buses, RER and trains were very very precise. It gave real time data in tour location, you desired transport location and gave very accurate ETAs. The recommended paths to take, as well as customized navigation features make this an absolute necessity if you are traveling in Paris, where I used it. I highly recommend this app!

i have been using this app wya before covid times and its a very good app. i would recommended if you wanna find your way around Singapore, it shows how to get to ur destination effectively by trains, buses, walks, and they give your eta too. its easy to use and navigate the settings eithin the app itself. there arent much advertisements. the only improvement i hope they would include in a future update is that they could display if the buses are single/double decks and how packed it is.

How do you know all the secret walking paths?

We do our own walk routing using OpenStreetMaps (it's like Wikipedia but for maps), which has all the best routes constantly updated by some good people who know such things.

How do you calculate routing results?

We use our own routing algorithms for transit, walking and multimodal. We spend a lot of time improving our routing results to make them even better and appreciate user feedback to help us do so (use 'Report Issue' to send us feedback).

The app is loading really slowly?

You may be having a mobile connectivity problem. Please try loading other websites/apps on your phone to see if those work. Also try force quitting the app and restarting your phone -- for obscure reasons, it often does the trick. If the issue persists, please let us know and include the name of your mobile carrier in your message.

Why are you asking for a permission to access my pictures & videos?

That’s just Google having strange names for their permissions. We only need this permission for saving the offline subway map on your phone, so you can also access it when you have no internet connection (e.g. under ground, when you might need it most). We do not access your photos or videos, we have too many of our own.

Does the use of GPS eat up a lot of my battery?

We only turn the GPS on when Citymapper is open on your screen and then only in moments when we need it for detecting your current location. We spend a lot of time ensuring that battery usage is optimised. But yes navigation and maps app do use a fair amount of power.

My GPS location is inaccurate?

Like any app that uses location services, Citymapper works better if your wifi services are on, even if you are not connected to any network.
