Introduction

Strava is a lifestyle app designed for sports enthusiasts. It automatically records your exercise history and generates analysis reports and improvement plans based on your physical condition, allowing you to exercise without harming your body. Users can also create their own communities within the app, invite like-minded friends to join, discuss sports topics, and become the most prominent member of the community. Whether you're an expert or a beginner, Strava is the perfect lifestyle and sports app for you.

Features:

Exercise while helping to locate: When combined with GPS functionality, your fitness activities will become easier to calculate. Strava will have just determined where you’ve been. Just sum and statistics the energy you have consumed. Along with that is the distance you have done depending on certain exercises. Once you have specific numbers, you will know where to arrange your limits. Do them regularly to ensure safety for health and avoid overtraining. In addition to measuring distance, Strava also counts the number of calories you have burned for exercise. It can affect the absorption of nutrients and change the dishes on the daily menu.

Record the distance traveled: The first significant number to mention is the distance taken. Strava will count them all, no matter what the space is. For example, the application will calculate the entire distance from the start to the end when you ride a bicycle. Or maybe a leg of your swim from one end of the pool to the other. No matter how you move, it will be counted as a specific number. So you know exactly how far you’ve traveled. And, of course, the amount of energy consumed will also be calculated relatively.

Make a progress map: Don’t you want to have to look for a new way to do your workouts? Then save your old progress. The length and position of that distance will be stored in the system. When the first day of practice is over, review it. You’ll know where you started and ended. Depending on the energy you have, you will choose an arbitrary length. If you’re not very active that day, run only half or a third of the distance. Strava always gives you time off to get back in shape.

Create challenges and compete: Sometimes there won’t be too much motivation if you don’t create your own goals. Then let Strava help you create it. Set certain milestones for you to complete. Make sure it’s just enough so you don’t burn out halfway through. Maybe cycling 5km in a day. Either swimming continuously for 100m or jogging for 1 hour. All are worth doing in full constantly. And you can do it with many other people around the world too. So let’s compete to help your own body become healthier.

Why Doesn't My Segment Effort Appear on the Leaderboard?

If your fastest segment effort is not appearing on the segment leaderboard, there may be several causes:

If the segment in question starts or ends within a hidden portion of your activity the effort will not be placed on public leaderboards. You will not receive a CR, K/QOM, or Local Legend achievement for this effort, however, the segment will still be matched to your activity and you will still be eligible to receive a personal record. If you would like your segment effort to appear on the public leaderboard, you can adjust the map visibility of individual activities by following the instructions at the bottom of this page.

Once you’ve had a Strava account for at least seven days and you’ve uploaded one activity, the first and last 200 meters of your activity maps will be hidden by default. You can change your default preference by following the instructions outlined here but keep in mind that this change will only apply to future activities.

If the activity is visible to only you or your followers, the segment efforts will not appear on segment leaderboards. You can adjust your activity privacy controls on individual activities or for all activities by default.

If you want your activity to appear on the leaderboard, click the edit icon and set the Privacy Controls to "Everyone".

The activity may be flagged. You can see the flagged status of your activity in several places on the Strava website. On your Dashboard Feed, you will see the word 'Flagged' next to your activity title. Alternatively, if you navigate to the "Training" tab at the top of the page, then select "My Activities" you will see the flagged activities highlighted in red. If you believe the activity was flagged in error, you can request that the flag be reviewed directly from the activity page on the Strava website.

Comments:

This app is great, and is amazing for tracking weekly mileage, shoe mileage, and other people’s runs. It’s also great for looking back and seeing how past activities felt. However, the design of it could use some improvements. First is the discrepancies between the browser and app. The app now has dark mode but why not the browser version? The browser has a different look and has entirely different ways of seeing data that aren’t in the app or some data that can’t be seen. Most importantly, why doesn’t the app have correct distance? The best thing would be to take the best parts of each and combine them together to be more similar. A change I didn’t like was that to see your own profile you have to click into a different tab which is annoying, overall design and layout could be improved. Also some random bugs, when importing from Apple Watch it miscalculates the elevation which should be fixed. Again, absolutely great app but these changes would make it seem more polished and user friendly.

I paid for a year’s subscription with the hope to find one app I can log and track, all my activities in which are Hiking in the winter and gym workouts all year, in the summer kayaking and Paddle boarding. I like the 3D map when route is finished, especially hiking and paddling. However if I start my hike in my Apple Watch it gets it right, if I try to record an activity on my phone it defaults to Paddle boarding.Trying to navigate back after a hike to edit my stopping point as I often forget to stop or start my watch is frustrating. I enjoyed my trail forks app more or All trails but no charts. I think it is trying to be good at everything and it needs some help. I do not think the integration with Apple IOS is very good. I wanted to love this but just frustrated. I suspect it keeps defaulting to paddle-boarding on my phone because that was my primary activity in the Summer. I have to go back in and edit the hike to fix the activity because the phone app defaults to record paddle and I can’t change it until after my hike. I usually start from my Apple watch but I do not always have it with me. I also wanted to set up Siri shortcut but only run or walk seems to be choice. Since I paid for it I will use it until then. Voice control would have been best or a phone shortcut.

Downloaded Strava primarily to track mileage on gear since MapMyRun discontinued this app/feature. Strava fails to save my selection for mileage alert… I keep trying to select my preferred mileage alert (for a pair of runners, for example) and save it… but every time I go back in to look at the gear via “edit item” it either shows a completely random number (that I never selected) or fails to show a mileage alert? I feel this feature has been falsely advertised if you download the app to find you cannot even use it appropriately. I am pretty loyal to MapMyRun as it has my entire history logged plus it syncs to MyFitnessPal… I’d rather not have to download an additional app (like “GearTracking”) just to keep track of my shoe mileage… I liked that Strava works like MapMyRun (without media limits) combined with GearTracking… but I’m annoyed the gear tracking is acting buggy and doesn’t offer as much as the GearTracking app (ie consideration of prior mileage, pie chart progress graph on gear mileage, etc.) Not sure if I will continue using Strava as a result? Minus 1 star for a buggy gear tracking performance which is what I came to Strava for.

Conclusion:

No matter what outdoor fitness you’re after, Strava can help you track your progress and help you explore your trail more efficiently.Like a travel diary, Strava helps users record everything when you are running, cycling, marathon, climbing… Currently, the app supports up to 30 outdoor sports. By recording this movement in detail, you can track your workout to see how it’s progressing. Is your training successful? How many calories are burned? Did you finish in the allotted time? Thereby seeing the effectiveness of practice and other errors to make more appropriate adjustments.Strava also allows synchronization with exercise apps and mobile mapping apps. The application can also sync across modern devices such as Wear OS, Samsung, Fitbit… You can have the same information on multiple devices anytime, anywhere.
