I remind you that earlier a feature was added to the game that allows you to start the game immediately with the latest update (from version 0.24 in this case). If suddenly your saves have been lost, this feature may be useful.

I found the story that the game was telling to be a lot of fun. In Witch Hunter, you have been sent to Earth from your magical land by Prince Phobos. The character we play as is called Cedric and Phobos has sent him to Earth as that is where Phobos’s sister lives.You are to make friends with her and bang her in every way imaginable to prevent her from coming back and wanting the throne of the kingdom for herself! The story has a lot more than that going on. You own a book store, you meet other girls, you get laid a great deal and there are some fun twists and turns along the way. I found the majority of the characters to be very likable and the story was actually a lot of fun to play through and figure out.

Playing through Witch Hunter was way harder than I thought it would be. This is a visual novel game that is made with RenPy so that right off the bat gives you an idea of what to expect. There are many story paths in the game and each girl that you deal with has her own personality that you need to figure out. You will be reading a great deal of text and making the odd decision here and there, but the choices you make do not seem to greatly affect the outcome of things.More than that is keeping the girls happy with gifts. You need to purchase the right gifts for the right girls and also do stuff to sabotage them so that you keep them right where you want them. This is a game that really does make you work in order to see the XXX stuff. Thankfully, it has a cheat button that you can use if things feel like they are taking too long to get going.

The presentation of the game is fantastic and I say this as a guy who is ignorant of the world of Witch Hunter. From the bit of digging around that I did, it looks very close to the source material (all be it in a much more XXX manner of course) and I thought that the game looked great. Even without knowing who these characters were before I started playing, I found them very appealing just by their design alone.The game is not voice acted which I did feel was a bit of a shame, however, as this is based on a comic and TV show I am sure if they did have voice acting for those that love the show it probably would have been weird not having the proper voice actors.
