In the driving interface, players can control vehicles such as cars, motorcycles, planes, and ships, and can freely fire in both directions. Under normal circumstances, players cannot enter missions while driving a vehicle.

The weather in Villefranche is highly variable. Fog, daytime, nighttime, rain, thunder, and lightning are all common natural phenomena that change daily. Weather has no impact on character activities or the plot.

In this game, the combat system is a mission-based mechanic, allowing you to fight in missions or without them. Everyone has the same health bar. When bullets fired from your weapons hit an enemy, they deal damage. The game features combat missions. Activating these missions marks the beginning of a battle, while attacking the corresponding enemy or completing the corresponding objective marks the end of the battle. The game's lock-on mode allows for a more sophisticated approach to combat, shooting, combat skills, and weaponry.

Awesome Features 

Vehicle combat has always been a staple of the series. Players can enter a vehicle normally, with the protagonist seated inside, where all attacks are borne by the vehicle. Vehicles can move enemies but cannot move by squeezing the ground. While in a vehicle, characters can freely fire in both directions, but cannot engage in close combat. Aside from some specialized vehicles equipped with built-in heavy machine guns and missiles, other vehicles lack weapons. While some system-bound vehicles can use other weapons, vehicles in vehicle combat feature submachine guns and all weapons in the vehicle's inventory. Winning in vehicle combat requires skill: ramming the rear of the opposing vehicle to cause it to lose control; forcing it to stop in a curve and repeatedly ramming the opposing vehicle to reduce its durability. The victorious vehicle wins the battle.

GTA: Liberty City Stories' missions include numerous quests for the protagonist. These include both main story missions and optional area missions, increasing the game's playability and freedom. Some seemingly insignificant pre-mission details, such as whether to purchase weapons at a weapons shop beforehand, can actually determine mission success or failure. While the protagonist's decisions aren't crucial to the game, they can affect the outcome of a quest. The protagonist must trigger a quest to complete it, and there's only one way to complete it. Quests have a fixed difficulty and mode, which can't be selected or changed.

User's Comments

This game is definitely an underrated entry in the series, having been made for portable devices all the way back in 2005. The controls are smooth, and the vehicles aren't as erratic as in Grand Theft Auto III. The radio stations are also quite good and enjoyable. The story has always been one of my favorite parts. If you have the budget, buy it in the app or try the free trial.

I've loved this game since I was a kid. I did encounter a few issues, though. Some cutscenes were somehow out of sync. For example, they played too fast and lost sync with the audio dialogue. Also, I save to the cloud, but it doesn't seem to back up my most recent saves. It still has old saves from months ago. If these issues were resolved, I would definitely give this game a five-star rating.

The first chapter of the game runs great! I've completed all the available activities on the first island. However, when trying to complete the "Driving for Mr. Leon" mission, I couldn't get to Staunton; the game would try to load it but would always crash. Edit: After further testing, I found that the game has trouble loading between islands (at least the first time). Before hitting the trigger to switch islands, I cranked the game settings up to their highest setting and finally made it to Staunton.

GTA: Liberty City Stories is an action-adventure game with an interesting plot, rich gameplay, and a vast world of free exploration. Although GTA: Liberty City Stories has a long history, the game itself is a very good game in terms of freedom, mission design, and rich content.
