RE5 is a good game, corny, interesting, and specially fun if you play it in co-op, because honestly that's the big selling point. I respect Capcom for being risky with this game. However, once you moved from the first chapter (which in my opinion is the best because it actually sets a tone that feels unique to the game), you'll notice how the game is more an action oriented game, which is not a bad thing, but a bad thing if you are thinking RE style solely.I've already played this game multiple times on PS3, now with a friend on PC. Got the plat on the OG game and it was very fun, now getting it on PC was fun as well. If you have a partner, you'll have a blast, because the game is actually very fun on co-op, and while the newer RE games have a much better gameplay, this one hasn't aged that bad, but you gotta get used to the older type of gameplay, similar to RE4, it bring a lot from it from a gameplay perspective. Once you get used to it, it's not bad but I appreciate the changes on the newer games.

God this game is so incredibly ridiculous that it’s so good. Them never specifying what country the game is set in and just referring to it as “Africa.” The green piss filter and the occasional wobbly effect to indicate the hot climate (I mean they are in Africa after all duh). Sheva being introduced to the game with a close up of her ass. The weird flying shrimps. Evil blonde Jill Valentine’s useless ass backflips in the background of our first fight with Albert (Leon got some competition). Obviously the entire boulder scene. What the hell sure 10/10.

So I finally beat this game with my co-op partner, as it’s an entry in the Resident Evil series, I’ve always wanted to finish. I was very hyped for this game when it was originally coming out, since this was after 4 which is my favorite in the series, and for many it just didn’t live up to the hype. But how do I feel?Visually, I think the game still holds up pretty well. Obviously the graphics are technically dated and this was before Capcom debuted their shiny new RE Engine, but I still think it’s aged pretty well and the character models look really good. I also think having the game set in West Africa is awesome, as it adds some nice visual variety in this entry and as someone who lives in Africa personally, any game set on the continent is brownie points for me.The gameplay is very much that of RE4, but now your AI companion can fight alongside you, or you can play in co-op. I will say right off the bat, this is a game that is best played in co-op as while the companion AI is competent it’s not very consistent, as they will waste resources like healing items when you only have a small scratch as an example. But as a co-op game itself, this game is a lot of fun. I like how the game uses its puzzles in a way that makes both players work together to solve them. And ya, it's not on the level of something like It Takes Two or A Way Out, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.Weapons are fun to use and I like how both players have their own separate guns and when you pick up treasures, both players get a piece, so you can buy and upgrade guns independently. One thing I hate though, is that the merchant section is basically just a menu you interact with, rather than the game having a dedicated merchant character like in RE4. I would have loved it if they just brought him back for this game or made a new merchant like the Duke in RE8. “What are you buying?” “Got something that might interest you, hehe”
