Manhunt 2 PSP is a visually striking horror action-adventure game that tells the story of a sadistic, bloodthirsty doctor and a patient rebellion in a terrifying mental asylum. Manhunt 2 PSP presents players with a dark and eerie 3D environment of a confined hospital, where players can choose to play as either the doctor or a patient.  The game is full of third-person shooting elements and will challenge your courage and reflexes. Players will need to remain vigilant during stealth sequences, be aware of hidden dangers, and collect important resources.

Outstanding Storyline

Manhunt 2 doesn't expand on the events and story of its predecessor. Instead, it applies the same gameplay elements to a different setting—Dixmoor Asylum. There, the staff prefers to beat and experiment on patients rather than treat their illnesses. A power outage one day leads to a patient rebellion, causing chaos and destruction within the asylum. Players can choose to play as two characters: Dr. Daniel Lamb and Leo Kasper. While the story begins in the asylum, the setting quickly shifts to other locations.

Wonderful Gameplay

You play as Daniel Lamb, an amnesiac patient, trying to recover his past while escaping a sinister conspiracy. The main objective is to survive in each area by stealthily eliminating enemies or engaging in intense gunfights when discovered. Key gameplay mechanics include environmental executions—a brutal, context-sensitive kill method—and managing your sanity meter, which affects Daniel's perception and stability. The game's pace is tense and exciting, with stealth sequences often requiring patience, followed by chaotic gun battles. The atmosphere is raw and unsettling, making you feel constantly on the edge between control and despair.

Amazing Performance

The gameplay mechanics primarily revolve around stealth, gradually incorporating more traditional third-person shooter elements as weapons are unlocked later in the game. To succeed in gunfights, players must utilize cover, move strategically, and sometimes employ stealth tactics. The game features a radar system, and enemies have varying levels of alertness, making stealth kills the optimal strategy. Players can distract enemies by throwing objects or making sounds through a USB headset (PS2), luring them away from their teammates. A mini-game is required to successfully hide in the dark. If you fail to complete the task on time, your character's location will be immediately exposed.

Players can perform three types of executions, similar to the original game: hasty executions (white), violent executions (yellow), and brutal executions (red). These executions include bloody and violent scenes such as strangulation, beating, shooting, and burning. However, some execution scenes are toned down, such as the screen turning black or the camera panning away. In the Wii version, players must use the Wiimote and Nunchuk controllers to simulate the actions required for executions.

All versions are very similar. The Wii version has three exclusive weapons (bottle, mace, and razor), while the other two versions include a katana that is not in the Wii version. The Wii version is the only one with a short tutorial to help players familiarize themselves with the controls. Other minor changes in the Wii version include: more detailed environments, more dialogue, added hunters (with sexually suggestive scenes), adjustments to some weapon placements, a new maintenance hole execution (in the "Ghost" level), and more animations for Daniel and Leo, especially in melee combat.

Although the game starts in a mental asylum, it quickly moves to other locations. The gameplay mechanics are primarily stealth-based, but as more firearms are unlocked, later levels lean more towards a traditional third-person shooter experience. Gunfights require players to utilize cover, move strategically, and sometimes use stealth to succeed.

The game features a radar system, and enemies have varying levels of alertness. The best way to kill enemies is from the shadows. Players can throw objects to distract enemies or use a USB headset to make sounds to lure them away from their teammates (PS2 version). To hide in the dark, a short mini-game must be completed.
