Next Run is an interesting take on the open world roguelike RPG genre. Basically, you pick a class that matches how you want to play the game and then focus on leveling up, finding or crafting gear or improving your magic to survive stronger waves of enemies. You have X number of turns until the next wave (unless you turn on sandbox mode, which disables waves entirely), and you spend turns doing the aforementioned activities, with your stats determining how many turns an action takes to finish. There are multiple paths to victory, from amassing resources to build a good portal to combat the evil one, destroying the evil portal yourself, performing a ritual to seal the evil portal or just winning against the last boss when it spawns.My biggest complaint is that each class is very strongly locked into playing only one way, with doubled benefits from increasing the stats associated with their class (ie most classes get 10% more attack from each point of strength, but the warrior gets 20% more instead). If you play as a warrior, it will be very difficult to use magic or do a lot of crafting beyond some basic upgrades. Or if you play as a mage, you probably won't be able to lead an army of followers or build up a city's industry very effectively.I'd love it if the game gave more options to us when playing as each class. Right now, if I choose warrior and then there's no good weapons to be found or bought from stores because of RNG, then I'm basically screwed. I "can" craft my own weapons if I find a blueprint, but it will take a very long time compared to the artisan, who specializes in gathering and crafting.Overall, I think Next Run is worth the asking price of $10. It's very challenging though, and it sometimes boils down to getting lucky enough to find the right things we need for our class along our path towards the evil portal.

Only bought to support the dev since marble age was such a great game, iron age when ;)? It's a decent game, has maybe 10 hours of content right now, high skill ceiling with the crazy amount you can do/manage to min max, I beat the game by just going warrior and focusing on going for weapons/armor loot, but very fun game for an achievement hunter, some of which might take 30 hours of playtime in order to 100%, not sure, really like this dev though from his previous games, really only bought to support in hopes he comes out with more titles in the future.Wouldn't mind a 'continue' button after winning, or a 'random win condition' selection before the start, more map lengths, maybe a conquest mode that is like 10x longer with all the biomes that incentivises you to go back to the beginning to level the towns and build in order to get resources, in this mode just have the ending be you need to do multiple things like build the wonder and fight off the devil, only realistic way is to do most of the poi's and build up the towns, I beat the game in like 33m (on like my 20th run/try), wouldn't mind a mode thats expected to take 3 hours to beat and maybe the ability to set people up on mines, maybe some minigames like 2048 to combine ores or something into mythril or something,I'm bad with ideas but the game as is, even without further updates, is worth $10.
