Alto's Adventure is a skiing adventure game where players control Alto and his teammates on an adventure through various snow-covered mountain landscapes. Players can flexibly choose different teammates to control, and perform various combos to achieve cool skiing maneuvers and increase their score, making it easier to pass levels. During their skiing journey, players will encounter numerous ruins, inhabitants, and beautiful snow-capped mountains, challenging themselves with over 180 levels of varying difficulty. Players can also invite friends to ski together and enjoy this tranquil and wonderful journey. Furthermore, Alto's Adventure can also be played on consoles for a smoother and more comfortable gaming experience.

Maya (one of my three favorites) is spry and light and can make quick work of backflips, but has trouble with speed and chasms if she's not coming off a trick boost. She's great fun for doing long runs and scoring crazy combos, however.

Paz is a smasher: He's big and not really a backflip kind of guy, but will pick up some serious speed on downhill runs, ice slides, and grinds. And when he's riding a speed boost off a trick, he can demolish all manner of items for a much longer period of time than Alto or Maya.

Izel is reputedly responsible for all the fancy gadgets you can pick up in the workshop. She's a faster backflipper than Alto or Paz, and gets extra speed boosts off tricks thanks to some fancy rocket-powered snowboard technology. I love using Izel to travel many meters quickly, though that speed sometimes means she can run into unpredictable chasms and snowbanks.

Felipe is my secret favorite character: a llama who snuck out of Alto's home and has learned how to snowboard. Being a llama, Felipe has a bit more jumping ability than his human friends, and can double-jump to get some extra airtime. You can time Felipe's jumps by either double-tapping instantly to get some initial big air, or tapping once and then tapping a second time to stall Felipe's snowboard and give him a little extra time to land his jump.

Tupa is the eldest and wisest of Alto's cast of characters, and by virtue of being the level 50 character unlock, he has skills stolen from each prior character. He has Maya's quick flipping, Paz's extra speed boost time, Izel's rocket snowboard, and Felipe's double-jump capability. Moreover, he has an extra-special power as it relates to chasms, which I won't spoil for those who haven't yet unlocked him.

Art Style Beauty: The skiing area is a series of long hills. The scenery will also change every time the player skis to a new location. The snow-covered hills are the most special thing in the game. However, there will be some abysses appearing on the slide. Players will have to overcome them.

Dynamic Weather Effects: Not only diverse terrain, but the game also shows diversity in weather factors. Players can face many different weather phenomena. Skiing in the dark will leave a deep impression on you. The color of the background will change to show the weather situation.

Immersive Sound Design: The journey continues with new roads. Accompanying the player throughout the journey will be music. The sound is played when you start sliding. Dangerous moments can be expressed with more dramatic music.

When under high speed (especially after landing bonuses), the character wouldn't pickup any items including coins and abilities. (bug) Weird boulder spawn during a grind. Iscapable of knock off players while they are on grind. This shall be change to a boulderbounce instead of killing the player. (Bug)Death on ramps sometimes fails to render thecharacter. What i mean is that death on the edge of ramp might lead to resuscitation ofthe character with a snowboard, tripped again, resuscitate with board, tripped again... afews time before actual death. Not really something that affects gameplay but fun towatch (Bug) The landscape generator could sometimes generates chasms during a longfall. Usually, the zooming of the camera during a chasm encounter would alarm players,but this along won't save them from game over unless they have wing-suit.(Improvement) The angle of attack at which we bounce from a boulders determines ourspeed at which we could sometimes come to complete stop leading to immediate deathby elder chase. (Improvement) Wing-suit charge on paz shall be more generous, asi caneasily activate it with other characters, but not paz. Can balance a bit more.

I really do like this game. I want to love it, but there are some things that make itimpossible for me to give it five stars.First, the good. The look and feel of the game isspectacular. I love the changing weather, the backgrounds, the music. The zen mode isgreat as a practice mode for the gameplay.The bad. First, as a platformer, you have verylittle time to react to things coming up. The rocks can be painfully annoying, especially asthere are other things on the ground that can make it hard to determine quickly if thingsupcoming are rocks or not. Rocks are often placed in odd spots that can mess upotherwise good jumps. It can often be hard to tell when the player is spinning whetherthe board is level or not, especially as the player changes in size relative to screen. Somechallenges are quite difficult, especially as one mistake will make you have to start again.The helmets are not that useful - I actually only bought one and never did again becauseafter a crash it added an extra step before I could restart another run. Overall, it is agreat concept game, but some of the frustrating aspects just make me not love it. A lotof these problems are present also in Alto's Odyssey, but hopefully they can beaddressed in the future.

Final Thoughts:

In Alto’s Adventure, the player will join Alto skiing and explore the many elements that appear before you. They all have their characteristics that you can recognize and pass through many different places. At the same time, with a straightforward design, it can still attract players and stimulate their curiosity. For example, the player can go through many forests or change the color of the environment as time changes. It can be said that it brings an experience that you cannot ignore.
