Understanding Identities And EGO: There are two forms of gacha mechanics in Limbus Company that determine how you construct your team and characters: Identities and EGO. At the start of the game, you will automatically recruit the game's cast of twelve Sinners, which will each have their default Identity. These are essentially different personalities that the characters can attune to, granting them new skill sets and attacks.EGOs are equipable items that grant the equipping character an additional skill they can use in battle. These are character specific, and can only be equipped in the corresponding slot: Zayin, Teth, He, Waw, or Aleph. These can be used on any Identity of the corresponding character.

Build Cohesive Teams: There are tons of different Identities and EGOs in Limbus Company to collect and upgrade. For your best chances in battle, you should try to build teams around a common mechanic or damage type. This will make your Identities work together synergistically, stacking bonuses to each other and generally making encounters easier.For example, several Identities have skills that inflict the Rupture status effect, like LCB Sinner Gregor and LCB Sinner Outis. These two characters can inflict and capitalize on Rupture, while LCB Sinner Faust deals increased damage to enemies with negative status effects, further increasing the synergy in your team. Keep things like this in mind when building your teams around specific encounters and battles.

In this case, since it's more likely that you will lose the clash and end up taking damage, you can use a defensive skill, like Evade or Guard, to defend against the enemy rather than clash head-on. Writing this as I finished Canto 9.Can definitely say this is one of the best gacha games in the market right now. Though the gameplay might be a turn off for people, especially with most kits having walls of texts, they look complicated but they are really just simple.The carrying factors of the game are the Story & Music, this game will definitely make you love the characters since it will always be the same 12 characters at your disposal, especially with gacha games releasing new characters to sell, Limbus does something different, you pull for the identities of the 12 sinners aboard the bus so you will never have to suffer a character getting forgotten once a new one releases. Also Project Moon does not know how to make the "gacha" in gacha game work. You can dispense the identities of the characters by using crates that contains the character's shards for ANY identity (except when Walpurgisnacht, a limited time event to dispense identities). How do you get these crates? Doing your dailies and weeklies, you can get BP rewards, and once you fully max it out, you can get more crates per level up beyond the max level.The City is a prime example of a dystopia, which Limbus Company, Library of Ruina, and Lobotomy Corporation set place in. The story in Canto 1 and Canto 2 is whatever, what I can say about them is that they try to glue you in, and once you reach Canto 4, that is when you know you will get hooked on the game. The stories in each Canto will focus on a single sinner aboard the bus, and these characters are based from real life literatures, so some parts of the story will base it from the source material. You will get to learn how Dante, the character you play as, eventually grows as a character and to recover their memories since they have amnesia. (typical gacha MC). Dante is not a self insert though, they are actually a character of their own and you do not get to choose any dialogue. It is not just Dante that grows, each focus character on the Cantos will have their moment in the spotlight.The songs from Mili at the end of each Canto starting from Canto 3 is always a treat to listen to. Studio EIM does a good job composing for the OST. I heavily urge you to listen to one of Mili's songs for this game.Staying for the Story & Music, though the combat/gameplay can be engaging at times, especially on boss fights, it is really repetitive once you will be grinding Mirror Dungeons (Win Rate button is your best friend, though don't use it on focused encounters).

There are several things that set this gacha aside from others. I think Project Moon deserves some recognition for this.For me personally... the lore and artwork are the items at the top of my list for things to praise. They are the things that initially grabbed attention until the rest of the game started to click for me. I've seen a mix of complaints about the difficulty of some combat encounters... but this is something I like about the game. Some thought needs to be invested into your party composition as well as the E.G.O. used and which skills to use during combat.The story is fine so far (currently I'm playing through Canto 4) and I really like how I can work towards identities etc. that I want by retrieving them from the dispenser. Overall it's in my top 3 gacha games and I liked it enough to go out and get Library of Ruina and Lobotomy Corporation. I hope this studio continues its innovative narrative ideas in the space it resides.
