Once you are friends with them, they will be registered in the phone book. Every character that is registered on the phone book becomes your friend, and they will help you and Baby Ogu during your adventure to conquer the challenges that you encounter. So, whenever you hop into a challenge that you cannot solve all by yourself, you should open the phone book and call the most suitable companion to deal with the issue in this gameplay. Therefore, whenever you encounter challenges that you cannot clear alone, you should apply this strategy to your gameplay and make everything possible for you. 

Solve Puzzles in Ogu and the Secret Forest: This is another strategy that you should use when you play this Ogu and the Secret Forest game, which is about solving puzzles. Of course, you encounter puzzles in addition to the obstacles in this game, and when you encounter puzzles, you have to solve them. Without solving them, there is no way you will pass through the puzzle. The puzzles come in various ways, and you have to use various techniques to solve them. So, when you encounter a puzzle, first try to use your objects and interact with the elements you can see in the puzzles. After you understand the puzzle and what you have to do, you can use your knowledge of the puzzle to solve it. Enter the Hot Springs and Replenish HP: Whenever you encounter enemies in this Ogu and the Secret Forest game, you have to simply use the items that you are equipped with to attack enemies. Every attack will destroy them, and they will die when their HP level is zero. But during the battles, you will also get attacked by enemies and lose their HP, or you will be inflicted with negative effects such as debuffing by the enemies. When that happens, your HP will be reduced, and your actions will be restricted. So, how do you remove all the negative effects applied to you and replenish your HP? The simplest and the most efficient way to do that is to enter the hot springs. You will discover hot springs when you explore this wonderful world, and when you see a hot spring, you should enter it. And when you do so, you will replenish your HP and remove all the debuffs applied to you.

Since the Epic Games Store will obviously not become a profitable and self-sustaining business, one day it will vanish. While I still can, I try to play some of the many games I "own" from giveaways. In July 2025, I blindly selected Ogu and the Secret Forest, an EGS freebie from the first week of June 2025.This is one of my favorite games I played during 2025. I was caught completely off-guard - I was expecting a simple and short indie game and instead I got a deep and ambitious grand adventure. I've got to hand it to this Chinese dev team.I loved my time with this game, playing 26 hours over the course of a week. And there were still plenty more things I could have done.This is a game that I should keep. I've just purchased it on Steam, which is a profitable and self-sustained business that won't vanish anytime soon.

The story is well told and vast considering all the characters you meet and befriend. I enjoyed every bit of it. You get to explore eight areas and there are also caves and secret tunnels to discover. The visuals are lovely - the world is beautifully crafted and designed.Once you complete the Jungle region, you are free to go wherever you want next! There are a number of bosses to tackle, and monsters to get out of your way, but nothing too hazardous or annoying (okay, maybe the huge cactus monsters were).Because the world is so extensive, each area has sub-areas that are pictured in detail on the map, so you don't have to remember each specific location. I recommend using the marker ability when you need to return somewhere later.The fast-travel is very generous; the transportation being a balloon travel called SoongSoong Express which is manned by a monkey - the character will be in many locations to aid you. You also have the ability to buy individual SoongSoong balloons to zip to areas without having to go to the monkey.At first, I thought that Ogu drawing the locations was just for charm, but it's actually the way to "open" parts of the map so that you can fast-travel there.Everything just felt so connected. I imagine a lot of passion went into developing the story, characters and music.

This is such a funny, cute, fun game, with a beautiful story I did not want to end. And it's HUGE. I could not do it all. But that's fine, because I still ended up doing 52 hours worth of stuff. That's quite a bit for one save slot.Very forgiving to ageing gamers who don't usually play with a controller (e.g., me). There aren't too many random monsters to deal with. The puzzles are very zen. So. Many. Cool hats. The boss battles are all annoying, but that's boss battles for you, and that's what easy mode is for.If you don't love Baby Ogu and want him to triumph in all endeavours, there is something wrong with you. Just buy it.
