Bloody Anomaly is a story-driven casual game where players are placed in a world after a mysterious viral outbreak, becoming one of the few infected individuals for whom vaccines are ineffective. Players must choose between succumbing to the virus or struggling to survive. Use your wealth, wisdom, and charm to conquer beautiful young women, building your harem while using their blood to alleviate your symptoms—the choices are yours. As the story unfolds, players will face more events and choices. Bravely confront these challenges and drive the plot forward; can you successfully escape the virus? Story of Bloody Anomaly:

The outbreak of the BA26 virus claimed thousands of lives and temporarily wiped out the usual rules. A vaccine with 93% effectiveness restored the illusion of safety, but you were unlucky, one of the 7% for whom it didn’t work... Well... there was no turning back.

Rumors spread that some of the infected were exhibiting strange, almost vampiric behavior. 

Journalist Sera wrote:

“They could no longer eat regular food. Their manners, habits, appetite… everything changed. I don’t know what was happening to them, but it was terrifying.”

And what about you? Once an orphan with nothing in your pocket, you clawed your way to the top, building a chemical empire and becoming a millionaire. Power, money, knowledge, everything was in your hands. Risk and criminal connections had long been part of your life, just like the church you built in the heart of the city, a towering mansion disguised as a place of worship.

And while the rumors kept spreading, no one knew what would happen next. The first wave may have been only a test, and the real consequences had yet to appear.

The story is told through space and clues: Instead of lengthy dialogue, Bloody Anomaly lets the environment speak for itself. Abandoned corridors, sealed-off areas, and distorted objects gradually reveal the cause of the disaster. As you progress deeper, small pieces of information piece together to form a larger picture of an uncontrollable incident. This narrative creates a sense of continuous discovery and keeps the curiosity alive until the end.

High-intensity survival gameplay: The game focuses on a slow but intense pace. You must manage your movements, observe your surroundings, and choose your actions carefully. Every decision carries risk, so the sense of survival is ever-present. The confined space and limited visibility make every step crucial, significantly increasing the level of immersion.

Very polished and impressive first release! Good amount of playtime and content. 2300+ renders, 40+ animations, 4+ hours of playtime (less if you read fast).

Graphics: HS2 of course, you either love it or hate it. Visually very good displaying high proficiency with studio neo. Lighting, models, etc. are all very good. Animations rendered in 2K :oops:

UI: Custom UI (using Unity) that's very nicely polished and themed. Already comes with the following: important customization options, nice bio screen with different poses/outfits, scene replay/gallery. Could use some tweaks here and there (personal opinion) but still very good.

Characters: Still a few main LIs not yet introduced as of the first release. Appearance wise I very much like all the designs so far. Of course this will be up to your own personal tastes. But I mean cmon hot nun girls :BootyTime:. Personality wise perhaps a bit too early to tell. They do all look to have some depth to them though, with varied backstories, motivations, personalities, hobbies, etc. Certainly NOT your average one dimensional porn trope girls who only exist for the MC's convenience. Speaking of the MC thank GOD it's not the same overused HS2 male models. Nicely unique. Personality wise there's a lot to unpack, he might not resonate with everyone. But there's definite room for development there and will have to see how it plays out in the future.

Lewds: Already 1 sex scene present, with some nice animation and writing. It was pretty hot imo. And with how hot the girls are very optimistic about the future.

Sound: Very nice usage of sfx and music, accompanies the scenes nicely. There's even some minor voice acting (although I think some of it may be AI). Dev states that the soundtrack/audio are actually original and custom made which is major plus points. Personally, I would like to see more variation in music but given the previous I can let it slide.

Writing/Story: BE WARNED The plot, writing, humor, dialogue are all very out there in my opinion. Very surreal. It might be a hit or miss for you. This is not going to be your standard VN experience nor your standard harem AVN story. If you were expecting some kind of casual "oh vampires appeared!" urban fantasy story, there's definitely more going on than that. Here's some quotes from the dev themselves:

"A narrative built around choices, consequences..."

"...strong focus on atmosphere, emotion, and visual storytelling.

"Relationships with the girls develop consciously and consistently, forming an intentional harem that is part of the story rather than a random collection of scenes."

I'm inclined to agree with all of that. Obviously it's the first release so it's too early to judge for certain but I'm optimistic about where the story is leading us and the development of the harem. The choices in this game are going to have actual consequences. Some might feel the narrative/plot is a bit confusing, however this is primarily a consequence of being a first release (other games have similar issues) and not having enough time to explain everything. Future updates will remedy this, and from discussions with the dev, this was intentional to avoid massive text/lore dumps.

Unity: Yes this was a choice that was made. Some might not like the fact that renpy wasn't used. Dev opted for unity to have more creative freedom in coding. There's no crazy gameplay at the moment but dev has hinted that more mechanics are coming very soon. Some cons are that it might not run that well if you're playing on a lower end device, especially the animations/sex scenes. There's even loading screens lmao. I (and others) didn't really fully vibe with some of the visual elements i.e. the constant transitions, screen/textbox movement. Although I can appreciate the artistic intent, it might be too much for some. Some of the gameplay elements could maybe be implemented better (spam button clicking, especially during a sex scene).

Dev also provides a walkthrough to get the optimal experience/sex scenes/relationship points which is nice since some of the choices might not be so clear cut. Although as they state the guide isn't the "ultimate truth". I would heavily advise replaying the game picking the various "non-optimal" choices and seeing where it takes you. There is lore, alternate scenes, and consequences!

TLDR: It's unique, it has insane potential. You can feel a sense of passion, effort, and artistic intent from the dev which are some of the top things I look for in a game. Give it a try.

Edit: The dev is very communicative and open to discussion through DMs/Discord, if you have any criticism/feedback you'll likely get some answers there. They've already responded to my concerns with the laggy animations for weaker PCs and stated they are considering this and might optimize things so everyone can have a smooth experience in the future.

Amidst bloody cases, you’ll encounter incredibly seductive beauties. They possess a mysterious beauty, yet are always eager to possess. Every conversation can lead to an immediate, passionate encounter.
