Not really, you do not have to do all of the different animations, only as many as you need.For example, you can make step forward and normal standby the same animation, since it won't be too noticeable.Stanby and step forward can be the same, and you do not need guard and chanting animations unless you want them.You do not need different thrust/swing/missile/general skill/magic animations, you would realistically only need 1 to 3 of them (if a character is physical and limited to a specific weapon type, only have one of the three different physical attacks, and make another one for the magic/general skill, though you can still use the first animation for them as well), you do not need an unique item animation unless you are as autistic as me.Escape and Evade are already the same animation on the basic spritesheet, and you only need one image for them, since you can just offset it in each frame to provide the illusion of movement (which is close to what the default RPGM assets do anyways).Near death, status ailment and sleep can legit be your standby animation but with a color filter or a status effect bubble next to them, if you want to be different you can, but that's still optional.Ultimately the point here is to keep a consistent artstyle, and even static images where all 3 frames are the same would work better than the default battlers.
