Gameplay of Max Payne Mobile:

Max Payne is played from a third-person perspective, in which players assume the role of the game's titular character, navigating a variety of levels, in which the goal is mainly to survive, battle against various armed enemies, and reach a level's goal. The game's story is played out across three acts, each with a selection of levels that vary in environments, hazards and enemies and have a linear route that players must follow in from the start point in order to reach the goal. In some levels, the player must battle and defeat a boss character in order to complete the level.

Players initially begin each act in the game's story with one or two weapons on hand, but gain access to a variety of other weapons as they progress through each level, such as handguns, assault rifles, shotguns, and grenades, with Max Payne capable of dual wielding one-handed weapons for increased firepower at the expense of higher ammo consumption. Max's health is represented by a white figure on the HUD that slowly fills up red as he takes damage, where to replenish it, players must find and make use of painkillers scattered around the level or dropped by enemies. The second aspect is the game's AI - while enemy behavior is scripted (such as taking cover, retreating from the player, or throwing grenades),[22] the game's default difficulty, "Fugitive", is modified by the AI based on the player's performance in a level through each of its areas. If a player is doing well, the AI modifies the next area of the level to feature more enemies and fewer item pickups; if the player is doing poorly, more pickups are provided and enemies made less threatening.

Nice port overall. But the limitation of the mobile platform (particularly the controls) kinda diminished the fun factor of the game. It can either be ridiculously easy (with assist) or clumsily hard (manual), both modes didn't capture the exciting fast paced, reaction-precision shooting of the PC game. This version however looks way so much better and I think the content are all intact. Also props for the effort to optimize performance, quality, and power usage. 5/5 Stars.

Just as phenomenal and great in all aspects as it is on PC but I think the only little problem is that you cannot 'crouch' like on the PC version, or maybe it is just me who couldn't figure out how. The same was also the case with GTA Vice City on Android, so maybe the developers had a problem with it at that time, I don't know. If you can solve this for any game (not just this one and Vice City) you released for Android, I might even try my best to rate this with 6 stars (only if I could, huh!)

I love this game. Ive played it for 5 hours straight and beat it. Ive only gotten stuck about 3 times but i easily searched it up on youtube. Yeah, the controls are kinda wonky but you will get used to it and the price is extremely cheap. The graphics are reasonable. This is a ps2 game so the graphics are clearly gonna stay the same. Anyways, i loved it :)

I bought it with the fear that it would be a mediocre experience, but I'm glad I was wrong. The touchscreen responds well (except when you die, when reloading sometimes the joystick movement does not respond quickly), the graphics are excellent, I have not witnessed bugs (except once minimal) and the experience remains fascinating thanks to Sam Lake. Its only problem is in the highest difficulty, a single shot leaves you on the canvas or kills you, that did not happen in the other versions.
