A short but sweet puzzle game that is a bit cryptic at times, but has very satisfying solutions. Some of the puzzles include some meta elements, and there are pop culture references that you may or may not know, but there are some alternative ways to find some of the solutions if you look in the right places.

The Gameplay After the game's intro, you are presented with a screen of a city, a red button, and a billboard at the top left. Once you press the button, things start to unwind and you will start accessing new parts of the machine. Your goal from here is to find clues that will help you put specific inputs (solutions) into the machine. Different solutions will result in the screen showing different events that occur to the city, these being endings. There are 25 total endings, with each ending being unlocking a poster or art piece on the wall behind the machine. Look around and experiment as much as you can if you want to find them all!

The Music The soundtrack of P,DTA features a retro aesthetic that combines some aspects of old NES/Gameboy music with vaporwave aspects, making for some very ambient and nostalgic sounding tracks. Some tracks like "Screen OFF" and "Robot New" are very nostalgic and liminal, all the while being simplistic and not too invasive to the game's overall atmosphere. It's very good, I would recommend buying the soundtrack if you like the OST and want to support Four Quarters.

100% Completion There are not a lot of achievements for this game, only 15 total. This makes going for that nice blue badge pretty relaxing compared to other games with longer completion times. The hardest Achievement, Perfectionist, requires you to do all of the endings without pressing any of the buttons more than you need to. You are allowed to do the endings in any order besides the 25th ending - ( Don't read this if you don't want this ending spoiled This ending being the final ending where the machine becomes an ordinary coffee machine ). This achievement sounds way worse than it is, as the devs have actually made some of the endings more forgiving so you don't mess up and accidentally click or fail an ending after a long attempt. Note: I would STRONGLY recommend you play through the game once without a guide or walkthrough so you don't ruin the magic that this game has to offer you. Although, I won't blame you if you use a guide for the Perfectionist achievement afterwards

My Personal Opinion If I had to compare PDTA to other games I have played, I would say it's kind off like FEZ, but smaller in scale and not as cryptic or meta. I didn't find myself bashing my head against a wall for hours trying to find the solution to a puzzle or ending like I did with FEZ. I strongly recommend you give this game a try, even if you have seen playthroughs of it 10-11 years ago like I did. For me, It's one of the best puzzle indie games ever made.
