Oddworld is a popular action-adventure game where players become bounty hunters, wielding double-barreled crossbows and a variety of unique weapons to explore a vast game world. Players will encounter a diverse cast of characters and outlaws, employing strategies and traps to defeat these enemies and earn rich rewards. Gameplay of Oddworld:

The premise of Oddworld is that the player's character, called the Stranger, must capture wanted outlaws, dead or alive. The game utilizes both third and first-person perspectives. In third-person, the player controls Stranger when travelling long distances, platform jumping, rope climbing, and melee combat; and in first-person, ranged weapons are used. Enemies can be approached face-to-face, or by hiding out of enemy sight (as indicated on-screen) and luring foes from or toward the player. Once enemies are encountered, they can be killed or stunned; live captives earn the greater reward. Upon an attempted capture, Stranger is unable to perform other actions and thus is vulnerable. The player has two status bars: health and stamina. When damage is taken, the health bar drops; if it fully depletes, it will result in the death of Stranger. Stamina drops when the player performs actions like melee attacks or falls from a great height. While it refills itself over time, it can be used to shake off health-bar damage; thus healing the player, but draining the stamina more quickly.

One of the game's main features is Stranger's crossbow, used in a first-person perspective, that uses live ammunition in the form of small fictional creatures as projectiles for differing effects. Live ammunition can be bought from the game's vendors or found throughout the game world. When acquired, two different kinds can be assigned to the crossbow at any given time: Stunks as gas grenades, Thudslugs as cannonballs, Boombats as rockets, and Stingbees as small shots.The game incorporates many role-playing elements in the form of rewards spent on crossbow, ammunition, storage, and armour upgrades and other items such as binoculars and knuckle dusters.

Useful Tips of Oddworld:

 Always visit the General Store after you finish a bounty, that's usually when their shipment of new goods comes in.

Make sure you stock up on ammo before tracking down a bounty, otherwise you'll have to use whatever critters you can scrounge up on the way.

Outlaws are strange folk and trust no one, they often hide moolah in crates and barrels so crack 'em open whenever you can.

Dead Outlaws tend to disintegrate quickly out in the desert, if you just killed one and you want the money for bountying them dead, you better bag 'em quick.

Don't be afraid to retreat! If you're feeling pinned down, switch to 3rd person and run away. Remember that you're third person run is up to 3 times faster than you can move in 1st person view. This allows you to retreat to more strategic ground if you find yourself overwhelmed by enemies. Sometimes the best strategy for an area teeming with outlaws is a hasty exit back the way you came. It also allows you to cover more territory faster when moving from one location to another.

If peaking around corners, remember that your 3rd person camera can really help you to spy around while not being spotted by enemies! If you peak around corners in 1st person view, you are more prone to being spotted!

Whenever you're in town, chat with the locals. They say the strangest things, and sometimes they're even helpful. They hold a lot of information that will can shed light on solutions. They can also be good for a laugh!

If you're ever not sure what to do, just hit the X button and Stranger will let you know what you should be thinking about.

If you can't understand what Stranger is talking about, hit the back button and check out the information at the bottom about your current mission. You can check out your stockpile of ammo while you're at it.

If enemy numbers look dense on radar... remember that you can hide around corners or in hide zones... and use your Chippunk to draw them to you one by one. Then ambush with the spider, skunk, thudslug, or knock out punch. This can thin down their numbers before you head in for an aggressive attack!

Loved this game back on the original Xbox. I had a gift card and I bought this not expecting to use touch controls (I was just going to download it and wait until I bought a Bluetooth controller). Instead, I decided to try it out and on a Pixel 2 is runs perfect and it's honestly not hard to control (think using motion controls for bow and arrow in Breath of the wild). As long as you use the motion controls for aiming, it's super fluid to play this game without a controller.

The controls are a little confusing at first, but are easy to get used to, the game may be a direct port, but the game supports remotes, making it feel like your actually playing the game on console, and improving the controls. The story is easy to follow and the characters are well developed, and finally, the game has many ammo types at your disposal, the game has a great "hunt to bunt", as I call it, mechanic, you get to hunt animals just to fire them off to stun, confuse, or kill your targets. I would definitely recommend getting this game.

This is too good for the price. Yeah the climbing is sometimes tedius and the camera bumps into things but if you ignore that. The game runs great, plays great, is cheap, it's fun and simple. I feel like I'm playing on a console and not a phone because the enemy ai isn't that stupid. Once I finish this, I'll definitely buy the next one and hope another one is made in the future. Except the savepoints they suck especially in boss levels and boy they are torture in the timer sequence.

An absolutely stunning game. Oddworld inhabitants put in so much effort into this game and I would play it over and over and over. Amazing story, awesome graphics, and much more. Although the controls are a bit wonky, you could just walk it off. A perfect blend of third person platforming and first person shooting. If you are just getting into the oddworld series, this is a MUST play. It introduces you into the wacky and creative world these delvelopers have designed.
