Introduction
Star Wars: Kotor is a popular role-playing game where players become the last hope of the Jedi Order, piloting their starship on a journey through the galaxy. Players will travel to eight unique worlds, encountering diverse companions, creatures, and vehicles. Each planet has its own characteristics. Choose your favorite characters from a wide selection to join your team, using weapons and dozens of different skills to defeat enemies, earn victories and rich rewards to develop your favorite characters. The game supports diverse customization options and controller controls, allowing you to freely adjust different key bindings for a comfortable gaming experience.
Gameplay:
The game's system is based on Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game, which is based on the d20 role-playing game system derived from the Third Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules. Combat is round-based; time is divided into discrete rounds, and combatants attack and react simultaneously. However, the number of actions a combatant may perform each round is limited. While each round's duration is a fixed short interval of real time, the player can configure the combat system to pause at specific events or at the end of each round.
Alignment system: The alignment system tracks actions and speech – from simple word choice to major plot decisions – to determine whether the player's character aligns with the light or dark side of the Force. In the first game, the player's speech and actions have no effect on their teammates. However, the player has influence over their companions in The Sith Lords, the player's actions determining not only what side the player is on, but their teammates as well. The influence the player has on another character can be minor, from converting a character from the dark side to the light, to something as major as teaching them the ways of the Jedi themselves. Influence can be lost, however, if the player makes an action inconsistent with past decisions, causing the player to pay very close attention before reacting in any way. The series includes "Gray Jedi" who tend to follow their own path as far as the Force is concerned rather than obeying the light or dark side.
Lightsabers: The games in the series offer extensive lightsaber customization including crystal colors and blade styles. The developers of the series "fought" to expand the number of lightsaber colors. The game includes the ubiquitous colors blue and green but also colors such as orange and yellow. Danny Paez, for Inverse, commented that "KOTOR's spectrum of lightsaber crystals led to gamers obsessing over collecting them all to design the lightsaber of their dreams. This led to fans going out of their way to explore every nook and cranny of the games".

Strengths:
Explore ancient worlds: You eventually get to fly your personal starship, the Ebon Hawk, across eight massive worlds like Tatooine, Dantooine, and Kashyyyk. While exploring these huge planetary maps, you’ll run into plenty of local challenges and side stories. Getting through all eight locations is definitely a big time commitment, so you have to be ready for a long ride.Lore enthusiasts will love digging into the ancient history of the Jedi and Sith. Be prepared to read quite a bit of background text if you actually want to understand that forgotten era.
Master the Force: Fights happen in a tactical, round-based format where you can use blasters, custom lightsabers, and over forty different Force powers. When setting up your attacks in combat, everything relies on unseen dice rolls from an old-school d20 system. Because enemy armor class is completely hidden from the player, figuring out the math can definitely be a rough learning curve. You really have to focus on improving your ‘To-Hit’ values if you want your swings to actually connect. Once you construct your own lightsaber and tailor your Force abilities, the combat style finally starts clicking. Just keep in mind that mastering all those tactical layers takes quite a bit of trial and error.
Unforgettable companions: You will recruit a number of customizable companions in Star Wars: KOTOR – going up to nine, and including Twi’leks, wookiees, and droids. While on a mission together, these allies will often have their own objectives and opinions that they will share. It can be a difficult task to balance their different personalities since you cannot please everyone. All of the crew members are fully voiced and will react to the decisions you make while out in the field. The loyalty of those surrounding you depend on what you say and relationships change. When you frequently make choice they dislike, their angry response can add a difficult layer of complexity to a party atmosphere.

Useful Tips:
The Scoundrel Has The Persuade Skill: The Scoundrel is a character class inspired by none other than Han Solo. The class doesn't have good starting stats with computer use, repair and healing. However, the class makes up for this with expertise in persuasion, stealth, demolitions, and security. It's a great class for players that enjoy taking a more stealthy route. However, the most fun comes from the extra dialogue options on display thanks to the skills in Persuade. Having this skill is like an early look into the Jedi's ability to use mind tricks on weak-minded characters.
Focus On Charisma And Wisdom: When it comes to setting a build's attribute points it can be very tempting to put all of the focus on the Strength stat. While this is an effective strategy for players that are more than comfortable with fighting their way through Knights of the Old Republic, it's less so for players that want to utilize the game's diplomatic side.Putting more emphasis on the Charisma attribute will mean that the player's character is more persuasive, leading to more interesting scenarios than simply fighting it out all the time. In addition, putting some time into the Wisdom attribute will pay dividends for the player's character later in the game. A high Wisdom attribute will mean that the protagonist will get more effective Force powers in the late game.
Pick The Heavy Armor Feat: With the Scout class selected, one needs to be aware that it can make the game more challenging without the correct Feats in place. The Scout class has the weakest defense in the game, making them vulnerable in combat. The Heavy Armor feat will mean that the player's created character can now equip heavy armor early in the game. It will make the character far more effective in combat, swaying the odds in their favor for a few turns while keeping them alive longer.
Increase The Persuade Skill: As the character levels up, the player will be able to put some points into various skills. One of the most effective skills for any class is the Persuade skill. The Persuade skill along with Charisma will mean that the player character can effectively lie in important conversation scenarios. It's also effective when interrogating certain enemies and gaining confessions later in the game.

Player Comments:
This port is FAR from perfect. Dialogue can be a pain in the butt, racing is challenging (managed all but the last Manaan race, which is normally a breeze for me on PC but with the mobile controls seems beyond me), turret shooting is atrocious. That said, it's a mobile port of a PC game from 22 and a half years ago, and in terms of expectations it far exceeds mine. The dialogue bug seems very fixable but the rest just comes to mobile controls and is a trade-off.
This is the legendary game that made people fall in love with bioware games. I can't believe it's rated so low right now when I have nothing but fond memories of this game. The story is so immersive and the dialogue is meaningful it made me fall in love with rpg games and stories. I think I was 12 when I first got the computer disc. I beat it so many times but I always came back. I know it's years later but bioware always made the best games, I hope Ea keeps them around after the merge.
10/10 anyone that says otherwise never truly loved this game and all it's flaws. The xbox and pc versions have the same amount of bugs if not more but that never stopped me from enjoying this game for what it is. the controls are excellent and if you're having trouble then you probably have trouble on every other game that has similar controls. Git good scrub. I was able to play everything as it was intended on the mobile version and even bought kotor 2. truly a masterpiece.
I'm pretty impressed - this game came out when I was a teenager, and here it is on my phone 20 years later! That said, I highly recommend that as a player you should look into getting a separate controller or something like that for the game. It is touch-friendly, but my massive sausage fingers struggle to find the right button once in a while. This means that instead of attacking, I'll accidentally send someone to unlock a door behind the enemy or try to loot mid-combat. Otherwise, few bugs.
Final Thoughts:
Dive 4,000 years deep into the Star Wars timeline, long before the rise of the Galactic Empire. Hundreds of Jedi have met their doom, and hope is a rare commodity. Enter you, the potentially last Jedi (no pressure), entrusted with the massive responsibility of saving the Republic. The path is yours to choose, filled with light, darkness, or a bit of both. Become the galaxy’s hero, or perhaps its most feared villain. But remember, with great power comes great… potential to mess things up big time!
