Cytus is a beloved music game where players are placed in a futuristic world where human memories have been transferred to robots. To prevent the robots from losing their emotions, players must maintain them through music. The game offers hundreds of songs and variations, each with over nine difficulty levels to challenge players. Show off your rhythm game skills by using various actions such as tapping, sliding, long-pressing, and swiping at the judgment line to achieve higher scores and compete against other players on the leaderboard. Gameplay of Cytus:

The gameplay of Cytus relies on Active Scan Line, which moves up and down across the screen. The player must tap circular objects, known as Notes, as the Active Scan Line passes over them, following the music. Different types of notes are used: Click Note (a single circular note, that requires tapping the object in time), Drag Note (a continuous track of notes, that requires dragging along the track), and Hold Note (has an extended ribbon meter, requires the note to be held until the meter is filled).

The notes to be hit as the line rises are colored blue and purple (light green in Cytus II), while those as the line falls are colored yellow and green (light blue in Cytus II).[8] Each note provides a score based on its accuracy, which can be "Perfect", "Good", "Bad" or "Miss!". Hitting consecutive notes in a row with either a "Good" or "Perfect" rating will result in a combo, which provides a score boost that increases as the combo rises. At the end of a song, the player is given a score out of 1,000,000, with a minimum of 700,000 required to clear it.[8] The player also receives a letter grade: "Fail" if a song isn't cleared, C at 700,000 points, B at 800,000 points, A at 900,000 points, S at 950,000 points, and Million Master at the maximum 1,000,000.

There is a secondary scoring system, "Technical Points" or "TP". This introduced a new, stricter rating known as a "Rainbow Perfect"[citation needed] denoted by a rainbow outline on the disappearing note effect. TP is calculated purely on note accuracy and is given as a percentage.

Each song has two difficulty levels—Easy and Hard, with a difficulty rating from 1 to 9. Cytus II has three to six difficult levels—Easy, Hard, Chaos, Glitch, Crash, and Dream—with difficulty ratings ranging from 1 to 16. The player may also choose how the notes fade in and toggle tap effects.

Strategies of Cytus:

first and the most important tip for any rhythm game: go with the rhythm. try not to hit notes only on reaction and sight. It is important to keep a steady rhythm with the song. If you're having a difficult time keeping pace or staying on rhythm, try dancing or bobbing your head with the rhythm. This is not advised for harder songs as it is easier to mess up that way, but you can definitely stay on rhythm and it's also pretty fun dancing along to a song you enjoy.

Trills. A trill is when you have notes back and forth (eg. when you press the notes on the left, right, left, right, left, right, left, etc. ). This is one of the more important sections in which you need to keep rhythm, as for long trills, it is easy to get off the rhythm. The best way to keep rhythm when doing trills is to press down hard on the notes. you'll notice that it is easier to stay on rhythm this way. Songs like Solar Wind in ch. 10 will be impossible to MM if you can't stay on rhythm. if you're really having a hard time, it is not advised, but you can actually just press both left and right at the same time and get a non-rainbow perfect. This can be done if you start to get off beat.

Drags. the way drags work is that it checks if you have touched the small circles before/when the bar hits it. This means that if you would like, you can actually just tap the circles instead of dragging. This technique is useful for songs like Requiem, where the drag has little amounts of notes, but are zig zag, so it may be easier to just tap the small circles. Note however, the beginning arrow is also a note, so it must be tapped. As I said, it just checks if a note is touched. This means you are not limited to use one finger to do drags. for songs where there is a lot of zig zag drags, but are small zig zags, you can actually just take 2-3 fingers and just drag down/up to get all the notes instead of zig-zagging with one finger. I had to do this to MM Entrance right wing, as the drag at the end is crazy.

Drags and Hold. drags and hold do not check when your finger touches is, only if it is touched or not. This means for drags and hold, you are not required to lift your finger off of the screen. For parts where multiple holds come, you can just slide your finger to one hold to the next, no reason to lift. Also for holds, you are not required to start holding when the bar reaches it, you can have your finger on the hold before the bar is there. knowing that a lift is not needed is important for songs where you have a note and a hold on top of each other. If you didn't know that you don't need to lift after the note, you would end up double tapping, which would make it much harder.

lastly, have fun and don't give up. As I'm a small perfectionist, if I feel I can MM something, I like to keep trying until I get it. It literally took me about 3 weeks to MM requiem (where when I started, I knew I was capable of MMing it), playing about 4 hours a day. Cytus is a fun game, and the feeling you get when you finally get that S grade or MM is awesome.

This is a phenomenal game with an excellent track and stellar gameplay. I suppose it's not the most innovative thing ever, but I found it to be a very fresh change as a person that has played lots of rhythm games. I guess you could compare it to phigros with the judgement line moving around, but the movement on this game is fixed and very very fun. please try this game, there is so many free tracks that are absolutely bangers and the charting is also amazing. Must try!

Great music game, if you like this genre this is really the best one around. With great music that fits the gameplay, and man are there a lot of levels. The ads in the free version are annoying, but if you buy the game you have the entire thing. And to be honest, it's sad how rare it is to find a mobile game that's well done, and isn't riddled with exploitative microtransanctions. Would definitely recommend. It's a fun game!

I only have good things to say about this game, and trust me when I say I am a very critical person. The game is easy to get into, and it's normal increase in difficulty is nice and slow, however you can jump in wherever you want in the game, or go straight for hard mode if you wish. The controls are the best of any mobile rythym game that I have played, period. It can be played on phone or tablet, and the gameplay works excellently on both, and both are different experiences. I highly recommend.

Great rhythm game. The tracks are awesome, I have a huge album on my phone of just songs from Cytus. The game is quite challenging at times but that's part of the fun. I remember playing this when it first came out, became an instant fan, and paid for every extra chapter as it became available. Totally worth it to support the devs and composers, etc. Great work, Rayark!
