Introduction

ANNO: Mutationem is an action-adventure game that blends cyberpunk elements. Players can explore various scenes of the city and uncover its secrets through the storyline. As a hunter and bartender, players will work with their partners to hunt down vicious criminals, skillfully using and switching between various melee and ranged weapons to unleash combos and defeat hordes of enemies, earning rich rewards to upgrade their Minecraft attributes, skills, and equipment. The game also features numerous mini-games, through which players can obtain additional rewards and chips to craft even more powerful weapons.

Features:

Explore and discover: This is a world full of surprises waiting for you to find out! While going thru the main story you can chat with a Cyborg corgi, take on a part-time bartender job, hunt down vicious criminals reveal the true face of a trending V-streamer! By exploring diverse locations such as neon Noctis Town, an off-shore cargo ship and huge underground structures, players are free to go as they please and act as they want.

Showing new perspective: Unique 2D-to-3D gameplay, seamless switching between 2D Action n' Platforming and 3D Exploration to interact with the world and its inhabitants. Let's dive into pixel gaming from another perspective!

Strategies:

Manage Your Inventory: You will be using a number of consumables throughout the game, some of these are far more valuable than others. You can only carry five items in your backpack at the beginning of the game. You can stack five of one item in a single slot, but after that, you will need to take up another slot for another stack. Stim Shots are going to be the most important item for the first half of the game (eventually they will be supplanted by the more potent Digitalin).Corn Juice is another important item. Erythropoietin and 654-2 will increase your damage output and decrease the damage you receive respectively. FM HE Grenades freeze your opponent and are great, but you don’t start running into them until you are in the second half of the game (at which point you will probably have increased your backpack’s capacity at least one time).Since you encounter a number of items as you go, in the early game you should be prioritizing what is important. Don’t fill your slots with Burgers, Onion Piquants, Arc Draughts, or packs of Lightning Gum. You don’t have the room to spare. Grenades are also of dubious use, but your mileage may vary with them.

Do Every Side Mission: One thing that we encourage you to do is to complete all the side missions you encounter. The side missions aren’t particularly tough in ANNO: Mutationem. They also tend to be easy to complete pretty quickly, so you won't have to be too concerned about getting overly bogged down. Moreover, if you accept them passively, you may just find that you end up completing them completely accidentally. Some of these side missions even provide you with grom points (these are distinct from grombits, which you get for defeating foes), which are what you use to upgrade your primary stats. There are exactly enough grom points in the game to level up every stat in your talent tree. So, if you encounter a side mission, take it. They are always worth your while.

Bartending For Money: Early in the Mutationem, you will unlock the ability to play a mini-game at your family's bar. This minigame pays out a ton of money in the early game. The object is to mix the drinks that the patrons request (they will be a mixture of red, blue, and green liquids). You will then have to stop the indicator on the highlighted section of a meter. You can hammer the L1 and R1 buttons to slow the indicator down and make this easier. In order to get the highest payout, you need to get 700 points (or seven perfectly prepared drinks). There is more than enough time to do this, so you are best off being patient and deliberate. If these types of minigames aren't your thing, you can just move on and not bother. However, it is unquestionably a great source of some quick credits.

Player Comments:

I enjoyed my time with the game while I was plying it. But it didn't really hold my interest outside of it, resulting in me playing it sporadically over a few months. I wouldn't say this is an issue with the game, and more likely to do with my either, waning or little interest in 2D action games.Afterall, you have access to a good variety of attacks, spread over a handful of weapon types, along with dashes, dodge rolls, double jumps, blocks, and counters. The last of which I never engaged with because the game never made me have to For better or for worse. However, I do recommend engaging with the weapon Mod system as this will make your life easier. Will make enemies with what seems to be unreasonable health, go down like an enemy with reasonable health. The stylized pixel art is an absolute treat, and the music while I don't have any earworms or absolute bangers to speak of did provide good atmospheric vibes. If you are familiar with the cyberpunk genre, you will recognize many of the tropes, although it fuses it with a touch of fantasy, and... a surprise toward the

end of the game. One which I did very much enjoy.I won't speak of the story as, if I played it sporadically so I won't be a good judge of it. Unfortunately, after beating the Final Boss, my game bugged out in such a way that I was denied seeing the end of the game on my own playthrough, having to resort to youtube to see the ending. I've sent a bug report to which I have yet to see a response to.Ultimately, if you like 2D Action games, I'd say this is a good one.

I got into the game enough to want to finish it, but only just. If the trailer looks like something you'd enjoy, I'd say you probably will. The art and the game design are awesome. Combat is fun, easy to get, hard to master. I didn't have the motivation to master it, so I just switched the difficulty down to easy. The world and background for the story are cool. But the writing is whack so the story quickly becomes hard to follow. Same for the characters, they're fairly monodimensional and the (partial) voice acting is very uneven: all the male characters just sound and look indistinguishable, making it hard to care. The lead character and her sidekick are actually ok. The game started off on the wrong foot for me, with the first task focused on which outfit to wear from the skimpiest collection possible, and the option to shower, while the sidekick babbles on in an impossibly high-pitched and overly-enthusiastic voice. It felt naff, unnecessary, and at odds with the intentions of the game. But that actually got better over the course of the story and by the end these characters' backstories had gotten interesting enough to care.In short, the game is uneven but fun to play. I loved the way it looked and I enjoyed the time I spent in that world.

closest game to cyberpunk in my opinion.great story boss fights and jokes.npc doesnt feel dry as well as the world.being able to get better gear without grinding combat like a slave really makes the game stand out from other games like hollow knight or hollow knight silksong you can beat any boss without upgrading urself which gives a nice challenge the mini games like the bar and hacking makes the chill times also fun with no need for combat.

Final Thoughts:

ANNO: Mutationem set up a near future Metropolis after the catastrophy. Moreover, they've introduced the famous open-sourced work series “SCP Foundation” in to the world of ANNO: Mutationem, to mix the creative ideas of authors from all over the world.
