Pocket GM 3 is a sports app designed for rugby fans. Players manage their own rugby club, drafting players from a large pool to build their dream team and compete in various tournaments. You can look at the in depth numbers too and they are fairly self explanatory, for head coaches and coordinators look for playcalling and play design as deciding factor between 2 potential coaches with similar position skills.

Year 1 coaching options are pretty bad, but as you get through the first few seasons the coaching carousel opens up quite a bit and you get some decent (although not every) options. Once your coaching staff is filled out and your happy, go ahead and progress to the next week of the offseason.

Now you're going to want to look to fill out the required players needed for the scheme you chose, generally I try to get at least >80 in each position and then try to fill out the rest of the required spots with >70. Having a >90 starter will give you some wiggle room for the rest of that position group (a MLB group that look like this: 92ovr 69ovr, 65ovr and 59ovr CAN win you a chip but if that 92ovr get hurt you'll be screwed until he is back. You should be able to survive smaller injuries to your better players if you had a group that looked closer to 92ovr 79ovr 76ovr 68ovr for example. 70-79ovr players are the lifeblood of a dynasty. Having quality backups will help you in the long run. make sure your required players slots are filled with 70ovr or better guys other then CBs in which case you really only need 2/3 CBs 70ovr even if it calls for 4 required players. Fill in the rest of your roster with young guys with development left on really cheap contracts. Sign them for a few years prioritizing super development. If they don’t pan out it’s okay, you can cut them at no cost if you give them 0 guarantee money and 100% salary money. Most will sign to 0.7-0.9m.

Its rare I personally sign a QB in FA. You want to find a guy in the draft or trade for the chosen one after he is drafted by a diff team. (even if that means 3FRPs and your soul to get him)

Free Agency week 1 is about resigning expired contracts, its going to be up to you who you want to keep and who you want to let go. Learning how contracts work, how and when development works, when to sign guys to long contracts, when to trade guys to maximize their value, how to balance your salary cap (should you decide to have it turned on), how much each position is worth and how much each overall is worth, are all things you're going to want to learn as most of them will be used during this week.

Free agency leading up to the draft is pretty plain and simple, you get 3 chances to sign people out of free agency. Each week you and the rest of the league can make offers to free agents, they wont sign right away, (unlike the free agents during the season/post draft who will sign same day) these guys will wait for you to progress to the next week of FA to choose between the contracts they've been offered or listening to another week of offers. Guys may not want to sign with you if they have high ambition and you don't have a good team. Filter through free agency, don't overspend and base your offers on cpu offers and the contracts of other guys in the league. Please note, the last few weeks of FA the game shows you HOF inductees instead of the results of FA, and it also progresses you right to the draft.

We love this game. Im hoping for a 4th generation. We have spent so many hours just building teams. We would like to make one suggestion. Sometimes when the players that are 99s or the quarterbacks that are 95 and above become free agents, nobody can ever pick them up because theyre so expensive. They are literally the best players and they sit in free agency sometimes for years. There has to be a way to fix that. It makes no sense.

Im not one to leave reviews, nor have we ever even left one on a mobile game. However this game is incredible, the in depth expansion of it, friendly UI, and smooth gameplay with no crashes or any issues of the sort is incredible! This is something rare to find from a mobile game, and has us wanting more for the next game of the series. It takes strategy and season planning a huge step ahead compared to other games. It doesnt feel way too unrealistic like Madden does with specific playbooks that are set up for more success. But this rather makes you understand that any playbook works, of course with the fact that it depends on your roster and what youre aiming for to choose a fitting style on both sides of the ball. Highly recommend this game! This is hands down the best management game out there for football, and even basketball as we just got that as well and Im not even a basketball fan, just love this style of management.

Everything about this game is almost perfect to us except for the hall of fame system. We have had so many players who have over 5 pro bowl and conf bowl selections, over 15k rushing/receiving yards, and 100+ touchdowns and somehow not make the hall of fame. And that goes for other positions and their respective stats as well. At any position we will have a player with a hall of fame worthy career and not make it and be forgotten. So we think the system needs to be revamped and/or there needs to be a ring of honor system implemented so that we can remember some of our greatest players who didnt make the hall.
