Mystic Messenger is an otome role-playing game where players take on the role of a young girl who communicates with men of various personalities through a mysterious chat app. Based on the player's choices in these conversations, you will determine your relationships with different characters and the development of the story, ultimately finding your love. As the game progresses, you can send private messages to your favorite men and gradually learn about their backstories and secrets. Each character has their own unique personality, so please enjoy this emotional journey.

Gameplay of Mystic Messenger:

The game plays in real time, where players can receive text messages and join the group chat in a special messenger. The story lasts for 11 days per route.The first day concerns the game's prologue, three days for the "common route", six days focusing on a route of a character, and one day for the party. Throughout conversations in the first four days, the player can give responses to certain characters to increase their likability with them, symbolized as hearts. Players encounter Cautions, events that branch the story and determines whether the player will get to continue the story or receive a bad ending depending on their accumulated hearts and chatroom participation. In the chatrooms, players can talk with characters and make decisions, which may affect a character's feelings towards the protagonist and ultimately their route.

The characters are the soul of Mystic Messenger. Each one brings a distinct emotional experience, communication style, and personal arc that deepens the story. Their personalities shine through their calls, texts, and reactions, creating relationships that feel genuine.

Zen – Charming, Confident, Yet Surprisingly Warm: Zen’s charisma is undeniable, but his warmth is what makes players fall for him. His calls often feel thoughtful and sincere, showing encouragement, vulnerability, or playful affection. He expresses emotions openly, making every interaction feel heartfelt.

Yoosung – Innocent Energy With Deep Feelings: Yoosung’s youthful sincerity creates a bond quickly. He calls when he's excited, confused, or overwhelmed, sharing honest emotions that make him incredibly relatable. His innocence and genuine care build a gentle, comforting connection.

Jaehee – Calm Support and Genuine Care: Jaehee’s grounded personality provides stability. Her calls carry warmth and gratitude, balanced with quiet strength. She speaks honestly and directly, creating a connection built on trust and respect.

Jumin – Reserved Voice With Hidden Emotions: Jumin’s calm and controlled tone adds depth to his character. His calls reveal more emotion than his texts, giving small glimpses into his private feelings. These rare, sincere moments make his interactions especially meaningful.

707 – Humor, Mystery, and Heartfelt Moments: 707 is full of surprises. His voice can shift from playful to serious in an instant, and those sudden changes reveal the emotional layers beneath his cheerful surface. When he calls with sincerity, it stands out as one of the most powerful experiences in the game.

Useful Tips of Mystic Messenger:

Every day, more than 10 chat rooms open up. New chat rooms usually open after 1–2 hours.

If you miss a chat session, the conversation still occurs without you. After that, you can read the conversation but will not be able to interact with the characters during that time.

If you want to participate in a missed chat session you have to press the button beside the chat room button and use ten hourglasses, fifteen in Another Story.

You can choose to purchase the next day's conversations at varying hourglass amounts.

You can speed through chat rooms with the Speed Button.

You can call other RFA members although they only pick up at a certain time and five hourglasses will be deducted from you; ten hourglasses in Another Story.

If you have missed calls, you can call them back. But in doing so, five hourglasses will be spent; ten hourglasses in Another Story.

Green arrow pointing bottom left is an incoming call. It is a call you were able to receive you when they ring you at the time.

Green arrow pointing upper right is an outgoing call. It is a call you made to a character.

Red arrow is a missed call.

You can replay the call if you want. This will not consume additional hourglasses.

Calling cards are also available for purchase with real currency.

Phone calls won't greatly affect your progress or ending. They are just extras.

The content changes depending on the messenger conversation.

Depending on the responses available, you can gain hearts, heartbreaks, hourglasses, or nothing.

You can only reply to the message during the time period when you get them. If you fail to reply before a new message is received, you will not be able to answer the message.

Messages won't greatly affect your progress or ending. They are just extras to gain a few hearts.

I really love this game so much, I've been playing it for the past 3 years. this game published at 2017 if I remembered correctly however I knew the game too late! Anyway, about the new update. I couldn't open the app on my tablet sadly.. I don't have much games here. The app I only play is mystic messenger, I saved 100+ to unlock 707 and jumin's route then suddenly.. I couldn't open it no more. it says like error or about the device, I dont remember much. But still peak and good otome game!!

this game is amazing !! it requires a lot of time and effort, but i think its one of the reason why its sooo good. you won't run out of content immediately and it felt like you're actually chatting with them (didnt expect the story to be THAT deep though). i highly recommend playing this during summer break i love zen and 707!!

This is the first dating game I've played, and after finishing my first route, I'm excited to see the next ones. My one complaint is that on Day 1, depending on what (real life) time you begin to play, you get a delayed bad ending on day four. Meaning you've wasted four (real life!) days. The game currency is very affordable, and a portion of the money you spend is donated to charity, which was a pleasant and fitting surprise.

Well this game basically never allowed me to sleep for two weeks. I love the real time. I just wish it was a option to play without such late night calls. I think it is amazing and realistic, but would love if you could program the calls to text and write you when you had free time through out the day. Or notifications when there was a call or message, since unless the app is open you can not. You have to answer within that hour or the call within the moment. I just am sad.

Final Thoughts:

Mystic Messenger is one of the best 'otome' games available on Android. Not only does the game offer an interface and plot that's perfectly suited for smartphones, but also a wide variety of interesting characters to chat with and great graphics. But there's more than just text messages in Mystic Messenger; there's also an image gallery where you can take a look at pictures of scenes you unlock as you play the game.
