Strategies:

Sprint everywhere, there's several people here saying not to but that's bullshit. The game doesn't reward moving slowly, the forest isn't full of animals, moving around more also means more animals will spawn in your vicinity.

If you look at people like Flinter or highly experienced players in general, they don't sneak around, they run from one location to the other looking for animals in the distance.

So what you want to do is to hunt around water and sprint until you get close to the location you're heading to.

It's also important to understand warning calls, warning calls DO NOT mean you scared away an animal.

Warning calls means an animal just spawned and you should hunter down and make a beeline in the direction the call was coming from.

Because the way this game works is that the animals aren't all running around miles away from you doing their thing, no, they SPAWN IN AS YOU GET CLOSE to where they're supposed to be. And often when they spawn in, they make a warning call.

And the reason you want to hunt around water is because animals will often spawn as you get close to the water, and since there's water in between you and the animal that means you often have a line of sight.

On the way, it's also a good idea to always check tracks, at higher levels you get a good indication of the size of an animal and fur type when you check it's tracks which can lead you to trophy animals.

And learn to make longshots, it's perfectly possible to consistently get one shot kills from 150-250 yards away.

Also, once you find an area where you shot an animal once, revisit the same area around the same time of the day. This is something you can use your tents for, you can have tents set up in specific locations allowing you to quickly get to hotspots you know about. You don't want to set up your tent in the actual location though but set up close to the location instead, like 500 yards away from it and then walk to it.

And spam those binoculars, you want to constantly check what's 150-250 yards off in the distance.

A really fun semi-realistic hunting game that has lots of map, gear, and weapon variety my only complaints are that most of the content is Paid DLC which makes this game a little pricey in the long run (i recommend buying the DLCs when they go on sale a few days after a new DLC drops in which you can get a lot of the DLCs for 55% off) which is nice and can significantly cut down on long term cost. and my second complaint is that there is not a lot of free content that drops anymore but overall i would say its worth the pick up.

This game has to be the best hunting sim I've ever played. A few main things I like about it are that it has a massive, immersive open world, an amazing level of detail not found in many other simulators, and a wide variety of game to hunt. It is so fun to explore and hunt and take in the scenery. I look forward to playing more and exploring the DLCs.

Absolutely amazing game, only complaint i have is that there are a lot of DLCs, i think some of them should be built into the game like the tree stands, tripods, tents or just the Dogs, i understand that other weapons are DLC, but 60% of the game is locked behind Dlcs.

I like the game to relax. You don't need all the DLC at all to have fun. The base game has plenty to do. I like to hop on and hunt some big game. I like seeing where I shot them etc, which the game shows you once you find the body. Most kills you do have to track your victim down unless you get a really good shot, then they either drop on the spot or only get a few feet. Lots of different hunting weapons to try out. Graphics are great and relaxing. Like I said, I use the game to relax so I mostly just find a spot with good views and wait for my next victim.
