Subway Surfers City is a popular action-packed parkour game where players can freely switch between city exploration and endless runner modes. The game plays just like the original Subway Surfers, but with different graphics and art styles, more obstacles, and gameplay mechanics. Unlike the original game, you now have to collect board energy to get a hoverboard, which fills up a meter as you collect more. You can upgrade characters and level up. Upgrading characters costs coins and unlocks more perks/abilities they can use and increase their score multiplier and also gives XP. You can gain XP by playing the game or upgrading your boards or characters. You gain different rewards for each level you progress, and completing season missions which also give you rewards.

There are more kinds of obstacles and they vary depending on the level, such as in The Docks where there are cargo crates that fall from the ceiling and you have to react quickly to not crash into them, bubbles in DeLorean Park where they give you sort of a double jump and 10 points, drones in Sunrise Boulevard that take you high up in the air. There are new objects such as air vents and bouncy trains that allow you to get to high places, explore areas and get power ups you normally can't reach. There are new power ups, the bouncy shields the are essentially super sneakers but you have to pound on the ground once, the battery which extends your time on the hoverboard.

You can open Super Boxes with 100 keys which is the only current use for keys, these boxes give you Surfer Tokens, Board Tokens, Keys and coins. There are daily deals which you use coins you obtained and purchase Surfer Tokens. There is also a daily Ad Box which give you less amount of rewards than the Super Box and also the Bonus Ad Box which requires watching 10 ads anywhere in the game.

Every day when you log in to the game, the first task should be to check out this section for the Daily Missions. As you climb up to Level 3, the Missions section gets unlocked.The in-game Missions section consists of two tabs: Rookie Missions and Daily Missions. The Daily missions section unlocks after level 6. A set of easy-to-complete challenges, like collecting a certain amount of Coins/magnets during the run or reaching a target score during a run. If you check out this section first, it will allow you to plan your runs accordingly for the day.If you are a newbie, fret not, you will be rewarded a decent amount of XPs that would push you upwards quickly towards Level 6. So, look to cash on this section. Most of the challenges set under Rookie Missions would be completed unknowingly by you while playing the game. Upgrade your Surfers whenever possible: Just as it is in the regular Subway Surfers title, you Jake to start with as the sole surfer. Leveling up your player increases the longevity parameter during runs by enhancing their performance. When you start the run, the surfer runs comparatively slower. However, your Surfer speed increases by tenfold as the run progresses. Hence, upgrade your surfers whenever possible so that they can unlock and upgrade their special abilities.

Equip the hoverboard during the run whenever available: As you go on a run, besides Coins and magnets that are available in regular Subway Surfers, you also get some Blue Energy items on the way. Even if they are on parallel tracks, make sure that you switch tracks if possible, to collect them. Each time you collect a certain number of these items, the hoverboard activates for you. You can tap on that to make your surfer use that. Hoverboards can make your maneuvering through tracks pretty smooth and help you collect more freebies along the way.Additionally, if you collide against an obstacle/train with the Serviceboard equipped, the run doesn’t end for you, and all obstacles/trains get cleared within the next 50-100 meter range. Most people think that they would save their hoverboards and use them towards the end when the run becomes faster.However, until and unless you are utilizing the hoverboard, all the Blue Energy items that you collect while the hoverboard is active are deemed void. You can always recharge and re-activate the hoverboard by collecting these Energy items, once it is utilized.

So far, I've only been playing for a day, but it's a surprising amount of fun! Almost as good as the original, heck, probably as good! it's rare to find mobile games that are actually fun, and this one definitely is! the only thing the original did best was the music, but music here ain't bad either! only real problem I have is the surfer pass. season passes tend to be more annoying than fun. I understand the need to keep players engaged but feeding off fomo isn't exactly very moral. banger tho!

Not only does this game look better than subway surfers, somehow it even has superior gameplay, which i never thought is possible. There are now more obstacles, moving obstacles, change of scenery, more verticality, new power ups, secret stars that give multipliers, tighter dodges and MAYBE even faster gameplay? The game is just more difficult, fun and nice to look at. 10/10. Absolute cinema.

I love this game. I personally think it's just as good as the original, and I like seeing all the updated graphics and gameplay. it's easy to gain money and points in this game, and I love being able to unlock new characters instead of having to pay for them. I also like how this game introduces new challenges, and improves on existing mechanics. I personally love the removal of the bounce shoes and replaced it with the bubblegum, as it made the old mechanic better and refreshed it.

absolutely cool!! I love everything about it, and I especially love the character v3ctor!!! all the characters are designed so well, and I love the gameplay and how it slowly introduces new maps AND obstacles! I think my favorite one has to be the one that is underground related because of the music and such! I love it, and I play it on a daily basis because of how fun it is :). I also like the small details they add, as in, how each character has a different running style and jumping style, etc
