Otherwise, you’ll be prying your new favorite sword from the corpse of a mighty boss that you’ve single-handedly defeated. The fantasy of these is nice, but that’s not how it works here in Tailed Demon Slayer.

In a similar vein to games like Blade Idle, Tailed Demon Slayer’s means of giving Ken some new equipment is through the state-of-the-art action of summoning. “Summoning gear?” you say. Yes, summoning gear. You just need to pay a small sum of gems in order to open a treasure chest containing a slew of different equipment. All of which vary in grade and tier.

Most importantly, constantly summoning equipment from under the Summon menu will drastically increase the chances of Ken receiving high-end gear. The more summons have been performed, the sooner Ken will be getting more powerful equipment. This can be measured through a progression bar in the summoning interface.

The numbers denote the amount of gems needed for the summoning to “level up” in order for higher-tier gear to be given to Ken. We recommend summoning gear in bulk so the duplicates can be merged in the equipment section.

Earning duplicates of gear can be merged in the Hero section. Merging all of Ken’s equipment will improve the quality of the gear that he has available. Simply tapping the Auto Level Up button will instantly merge all gear available if it can be done.

This usually becomes available after each summon. The more times you merge your gear, the better the quality of the gear becomes. This’ll allow Ken to hit harder and survive for much longer, therefore increasing his likelihood of progressing a few levels forward. Additionally, you’ll also make Ken stronger by collecting any and all gear he comes across through the Album (located on the upper right).

But did you know that it isn’t just equipment that are the only things that Ken can summon? That’s right, if you want him to become even stronger, he has to harness the power of unlikely allies, and we don’t mean the Guardians.

Fairies are similar to pets. But unlike in most RPGs, they don’t require food or extra maintenance. Apart from their cute appearances, they also have icons to show which region they’ve come from in-game. Let their adorable physiology fool you, though, they’re competent warriors who fight with great pride and might. They’ll also see Ken as a worthy enough ally once he’s progressed far enough into the game (yes, that means you’ll have to unlock these Fairies eventually).

Each Fairy has their own special ability. When you’re at the Fairy interface of the game, you’ll see that each of their abilities behave quite differently from one another. This could make for some interesting setups where Ken could efficiently thin out the horde of demons each time he encounters them. We highly recommend picking out Fairies who deal increased amounts of damage in order to keep Ken from exerting himself too much.

The game runs well 90% of the time, it has fun power progression (IMO), its ads aren't intrusive, and its events are really generous. Not once have I felt like I have to pay money to progress. The $ shop is pretty much just there to support the devs. I mean, by the end of my first week playing, I think I'd accumulated over $100 worth of gems without paying. I think it's over $200 now, at 2 weeks. The game has such pleasant practices that I'm going to pay money anyway, out of appreciation.

Just got the game not too long ago, so know i am not too deep to five an in depth review, but I'm a sucker for idle games and something this game really gets right for me is the visuals. Even if I'm sitting here passing time, watching my little guy fight is satisfying for me- as well as watching your numbers go up as well of course. Something I believe for this type of game that many get wrong is it can get boring really fast, so having something like satisfying/smooth visuals adds a LOT for me.

I can't give this game less than 5 starts, but I have a small critique. I feel like enemies deal too little dmg and have too much HP. I went for has much dmg as I could and as little defensive stats and my HP still doesn't drop under 95%, while enemies are dmg sponges. So I feel like some balancing would be healthy for the game, like 100% more dmg for enemies and less 50% hp, or even 200% and 25%. But is the only thing I have to point out of negative. 10/10 either way, great jojb overall!

A simple game, with no pop up ads. I absolutely love it, and I like to think the developers aren't greedy because they don't constantly push purchases. You can watch ads for power ups and the such, but it's completely optional. I do wish there were a bit more to do, but I've been putting a lot of time in it so I can't complain. Very happy with this, and the discord community is very active and kind.
