Northgard is an action-strategy game set in the world of Norse mythology, where players take on the role of a new Viking clan leader vying for dominion over the continent. Starting from a humble settlement, you must endure brutal winters and fend off ferocious monsters that threaten your people. You will need to assign tasks to your clansmen, manage resources, and raise an army to slay beasts, expand your territory, and secure vital supplies. The game also features a multiplayer mode supporting up to five players; choose the right clan as your starting point and leverage its unique traits to accelerate your development and ultimately reign supreme over the land.

Gameplay of Northgard:

Inspired by Nordic mythology, Northgard is a real-time strategy game where a Viking clan tries to take control over a wild continent. The game contains both single-player and multi-player modes, as well as a story-based campaign, with missions of increasing difficulty and complexity. Each map is divided into different regions, with each containing special resources such as iron, stone, fish, and grain. Each region, however, can only support a fixed number of buildings. The game features dynamic seasons. For instance, farms will stop producing food during winter, while the consumption of wood will significantly increase during the same period. In the story, the player plays as Rig, a prince who seeks to avenge the death of his father the High King at the hands of Hagen, the ruthless leader of Clan of the Raven. The young prince will sail to the island of Northgard to fulfill his mission, and in the process he will meet other clans and creatures. At launch, the game features eleven missions and six playable clans, with another twelve clans available as DLC. There are four victory conditions for the game's standard play mode, which allows players to combat other clans, controlled either by artificial intelligence or other human players.

Features of Northgard:

Multiple Victory Conditions: When you join the game, everyone wants to win, and of course you will be able to win on terms such as conquest, reputation, and deals.

Cooperative and Competitive Modes: There will be multiplayer modes that allow you to play co-op, compete and solo together, which is very logical and meaningful for you when players are playing and compete with a very attractive multi audience.

Adaptive Strategy: Players need to adjust your strategy to fight cruel, brutal enemies and harsh winters. Any condition requires a strategic adjustment to adapt to that condition, so there’s a high probability of winning.

Mythological Enemies: The most cruel and dreadful enemies are waiting for you, the most terrible and terrible enemies like fighting with wolves, dead bodies, giants and many other mythical monsters.

Clan Abilities and Upgrades: It is imperative to upgrade your weapons, armor, and special abilities, which are extremely important and necessary support tools for you in every process, which will be extremely important for you.

Tactical Terrain: Players will have tactical terrain, such as forests and lakes, affecting their battle; you will join the battle and prepare the situation for every terrain to earn the highest score in every difficult game.

Useful Tips of Northgard:

The first thing you're ALWAYS going to want to do is mine Stone. Stone will allow you to upgrade your buildings which is practically essential to ensure you have enough Food to support your clan. But before you can mine Stone, you need to find it.

So here's a basic building order I like to recommend to new players., This build order will generally work on any clan. While it is not the most efficient, it is the most "safe". It'll give you a good foundation to explore from without being frustrated about lack of resources.

Start with Scout Camp. Because you have to, literally. You can't move into unscouted tiles. Immediately scout all the tiles around your starting tile. From there, you'll want to be looking for a Lore Stone and Food sources (Fish, Deer, or Fields). You'll have to use your own discretion when colonizing tiles though.

Next, you'll want a Woodcutter's Lodge to build additional buildings. You should have two villagers assigned to this nearly immediately and you'll be good to "forget" about them. You're always going to need some income of Wood. But the biggest part is the fact that Wood will be your main timegate for expansion. You to need to build buildings. A lot of them. So you need Wood. A lot of it.

Next build a Food building, colonizing if you have to. As with the Woodcutter's, you'll basically leave these guys on their jobs forever. Deer and Fields will provide a better boost in Food production compared to basic villagers, so it's important to get this up and going as well. Fish may not seem like it does much, but it doesn't have reduced production during Winter so it's much better than an initial impression.

Third, build a Dock. You may want to consider only assigning one Villager to it for the moment. Docks will provide kröwns. While you don't exactly have much to buy right now, you do need a small income to help offset building upkeep costs. The more buildings you have, the higher the kröwn tax since each building has its own cost for upkeep. You don't need specifics, but this is why you'll eventually start losing kröwns.

Keep an eye on your food production too. Once you can afford to put a second Villager onto the Dock without starving yourself, do it.

Next, you'll need a second Woodcutter's Lodge. Yes, a second one. That's how much Wood you need. Unlike the first Woodcutter's Lodge, this one won't necessarily be manned 100% of the time. This second pair will need to be micromanaged just slightly.

After your second Woodcutter's, build a second Food building. Keep this manned 100% as well. If you're unlucky, your second food might be two tiles away from your starting zone and guarded by nasty mobs. The campaign missions will be kinder to you, but keep in mind that again - the first two years are you versus the wild lands.

Now that you have two Food buildings up and going, a nice influx of Wood for construction, and enough kröwns coming in to support everything - reassign one pair of Woodcutters to go build a Stone mine and start mining. Once you start getting Stone, upgrade your Town Hall and then upgrade your two Food buildings. Do note that once you do upgrade Food buildings, they can be assigned a 3rd villager. Overall, this changes the production from 200% (two Farmers/Hunters/Fishers earning 100% production each) to 360% (three workers earning 120% production each) which is nearly doubling the output.

I'm really enjoying the game. There is a steep learning curve that can be overcome with some YouTube guide videos. I was having a hard time with the controls and UI at first since it was so difficult with such small buttons and no mouse. Micromanaging units is also so difficult to do and it really needs plenty of practice. Overall, the game is really fun and victory is so sweet.

The game is excellent, the best mobile RTS I've ever played. Really it scratches a Warcraft 3 itch in a way I didn't think possible on a phone. Unfortunately it is missing a lot of content from the PC release (conquest mode, clans etc.) So not sure if this app is in "maintenance mode", where bugs will be fixed but no new content will be added. Which is disappointing because man this game has the potential to be the gold standard of its genre on mobile. Deserves 6 star if it adds that content.

it's a good port of an amazing PC game. the additional clans aren't overly expensive. the only downside is that the game isn't up to date with its PC counterpart, clans, game modes, warchief skins etc. are missing. great game nonetheless, you won't find a better rts available for handheld devices.

This game is awesome I mean the story is good and when it comes to games you can change the type of difficulty and use different tactics to win during the campaign. This game is fun at the end of the day at least for me. If there are any updates based on the story it would be fun and I would play it again. The performance of the game is good and few improvements can be made.

Perfection. It runs perfectly on my phone, no heat or major battery issues(s9). Its easy to control units and switch between unit types, the gameplay is smooth. It took me a little bit to get the hang of how everything worked but now it feels exactly like a solid PC game. Growing up on RTS like CNC and AOE, this is perfect. I think its all generously priced too. Thank you thank you!

Unfortunately, there is no chat in the mobile version, and it is not planned to add it. 

I lost my progress?

First, be sure to be connected with your Google Play or your Game Center account in game (in the Option Menu), then you can click on the Restore button. When you go on the load menu, you should see three dots indicating that your saves are loading : it can take a little time.If this doesn't work, this may indicate a synchronisation error. We completely understand how frustrating it can be to lose progress, but unfortunately, there is no way for us to retrieve lost data as everything is stored in the Cloud by Google or Apple directly.

When reinstalling the game or installing it on another device, it is necessary to make sure that you are connected to your Google Play or Game Center  account in-game and wait until the synchronization is complete before playing as it can otherwise overwrite your previous progress. Sometimes, there can be unfortunate bugs with the synchronization that are sadly out of our control since everything transits through the Cloud and is stored by Google or Apple, but most of the time the progress issues happen because the synchronization was not complete. If you encounter an issue with the game, we do not recommend uninstalling the game right away. The best thing to do is to first try and clear cache from the store and from your device then reboot your device (turn it off and wait five minutes before turning it back on) and try relaunching the game. Before trying to reinstall the game, you can also contact us directly and check if there are known workarounds for the problem you have been experiencing.

How do I change the language of the game?

You can change the language in the "Options" menu. Northgard is available in English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Turkish. Please note that it is not planned to add new languages to the game for now.

How do I make my clan happy?

In Northgard, Happiness is based on several factors:

Territories: How many Areas your clan has colonized.

Food Reserves: Having a large surplus of Food.

Infrastructure: upgrading houses and town halls

Geyser Tile: when colonized, it grants +2 happiness, 

Baldr's blessing grants + 3 happiness also.
