Dungeon Maker is a popular dungeon-building game where players become dungeon builders, setting up various traps and recruiting powerful monsters to defeat waves of adventurers and even heroes, reaping rewards to continuously upgrade their dungeons. As the game progresses, players will unlock more powerful dark lords, trap facilities, and even relics with mysterious powers to defend against even more adventurers. The game is constantly being refined, with new gameplay and events continuously being introduced to bring players more fresh experiences.

Features of Dungeon Maker:

Monster Recruitment: Besides the traps, the system often allows the recruitment of more than 260 monsters. Of course, their skills can also become obstacles for heroes to explore.

Relic Power: Your dungeon is similar to a hero in the RPG world when its stats can be enhanced. Only with precious artifacts, its power can be boosted.

Diverse Dark Lords: Instead of becoming a hero, turn yourself into one of the 10 Dark Lords. Of course, you will discover their potential by influencing the dungeon.

Fate Card System: Throughout the gameplay, fate cards often decide the events that will happen. From there, your enemies can face opportunities or misfortunes.

Unlockable Elements: The application helps you unlock many types of monsters, traps, buildings and more. Of course, combining them in some way is absolutely necessary.

Custom Dungeon Building: You can carefully place more than 160 types of traps to combine with different buildings. From there, an impenetrable dungeon layout will quickly stop many enemies.

As heroes become stronger, players must adjust creature layouts to handle their evolving skills.

Varied Traps and Facilities: There are numerous traps that can be placed strategically throughout the dungeon. Some deal direct damage, others inflict debuffs such as poison, slow, or bleeding. Facilities help boost monster power, increase survival rate, or provide other long-term advantages. Efficient placement and upgrades are essential to maximize defensive results.

Powerful Relics: Relics act as permanent enhancements for both the dungeon and the Dark Lord. These artifacts grant passive bonuses such as increased damage, improved trap efficiency, or monster resistance. Strategic combination of relics can drastically influence game outcome.

Random Daily Event and Card System: Dungeon Maker incorporates a daily fate card system. At the beginning of each day, you must choose between combat, event, or resource-related actions. Useful Tips of Dungeon Maker:

Death Lord is easy to make. But we need her early in the game as she can give free immortality that can boost the lil' guy survivability.

White Fang is a great fusion monster as she can hit the whole Dungeon with damage and debuff. She is also one of the difficult monster to fusion so bringing her along is never a bad thing.

Fairy is our savior and our protector. Sure, making her is easy but sometimes RNG is the devil and we couldn't find the Ent Lady until late in the game. It is of course a different matter when you use Floria as a Dark Lord. -Baphomet is one of the fusion monster that needs 3 monsters to make. It is really depends on what strat that you are using because she is mainly a debuffer. In my case, I always bring her to work together with death knight as devil's cunning give an instant 100% extra damage -Thetis is a must if you play traps heavily. But if you use Marielle you don't really need her. It is a paradox because you can make her easier when you use Marielle.

Shiva is a great staller monster when she is equipped with a good skills. She can survive on her own fighting bunch of heroes. But other than a staller, she doesn't do much. Also we need her fully equiped with a right skill for her to shine.

Bone Dragon is another great debuffer. You can put him together with Shiva for the best stalling effect. But usually you can just make him on the go.

Arachne is another good fusion monster that works well as a sweeper. But as a team she doesn't really work well so usually I make her in the go.

Sephiroth is the odd one out. She has amazing function as her attack hit the whole room and gives a great debuff. The thing is, she has a really low attack stat. She is a hit and miss fusion monster. If you have a free slot bring her around but you can also make her in the go especially if you are bringing fairy around.

Fairy is one of the must to have. She works wonderfully even without a proper skill that not bringing her is actually enticing as making her is really easy. But for me, her role is so important and I won't let the RNGod messing with me. I always bring her as my succession monster.

When I first found this game, I thought that it was niche. It got that good pixel style graphics and dungeon building mechanic. I wanted to give it a try and it didn't disappoint me. It was fun! Got addicted to playing it, bought DLC and provided more fun. I know my review is a tad too late but better late than never. Shame I didn't find this game much earlier and I sure ain't deleting it from my device.

i originally made this 5 star review in October of 2020, playing since 2018. I'm rewriting April 2026. I maintain my original 5-star review. There is literally nothing to complain about. Everything is balanced in a fair way that quickly rewards progress once you get a hang of the gimmicks. There are absolutely zero mandatory purchases, and you can progress this game completely free beyond the initial purchase. It's quick to get addicted to. One of five games I constantly cycle back to.

I realized I never made a review for this game when I started playing Dungeon Within. I've got way more hours in Dungeon Maker than I care to admit. Long runs, large scale, and so many ways to play without needing to spend money outside of the DLC brought so much fun. Also the pixel art is fantastic.

The IAPs here were done really really well. So your progression is somewhat locked to this currency that you get as rewards for playing the game and the IAPs are purely made for people who want to save time on certain things. Everything is obtainable just from playing and I love that, it doesnt feel exploitive or predatory at all. Buying anything does take away the feeling of progression so i dont really recommend it, it's kinda like paying extra money to not play the game. I could see it being useful for some people though if there is just something you need right now. The game is really fun, fast and easy to jump in and out of, so i know ill definitely be playing this for a while. I hope the devs keep up this IAPs model though, its a refreshing change.

Conclusion:

Monsters often set up their homes in dungeons, making them deadly places to visit. It’s just where those who possess brave and strong character fight. But have you considered siding with the bad guys and against the good guys? Dungeon Maker is the right place to have a good time. At this point, your mission is no longer that of an attacking warrior defending the right. The goal is not to aid the hero’s journey toward the end goal but to protect the dungeon from further attack. That distinguishes Dungeon Maker from other players and explains why so many enjoy playing it. Build a solid foundation and do everything to slow down the warrior’s advance.
