Introduction
Project Playtime is a horror survival game where players are forced to return to the abandoned toy factory where they once worked, embarking on a perilous escape. You must explore different areas of the factory, skillfully using the various functions of the grab-backpack items to solve puzzles and escape pursuit, ultimately finding clues to escape the factory. Besides experiencing the story, players can also engage in online battles with other players. Six players will collect three toy parts scattered throughout the factory, while a seventh player will play as the monster, hunting down the other six to become the final victor. Teamwork and strategic division of labor are essential for success.
Gameplay of Project Playtime:
Poppy Playtime is a first person survival-horror video game where the player plays as an unnamed ex-employee of a toy-making company named Playtime Co., who returns to the company's abandoned toy factory after its staff mysteriously disappeared a decade earlier. There, they discover that the factory is filled with monstrous toys who are alive and malicious towards them, and starts looking for a way to escape the premises.
The game features multiple puzzles throughout, which the player must solve in order to progress further, with some requiring a gadget named the GrabPack, a backpack that can be equipped with two extendable hands which can be used to pull and reach objects from a far distance, conduct electricity, and access certain doors. In Chapter 2, it can also be used to swing across gaps and, with a green hand obtained during gameplay, transfer electricity between sources. In Chapter 3, the player obtains an improved version of the GrabPack, the GrabPack 2.0, that comes with longer wires, jet boosters to enable falling safely from great heights, and the ability to switch the green hand with a purple hand that allows them to jump long distances and an orange finger gun hand that doubles as a flare gun. They also acquire a gas mask to help them navigate areas exposed to the dangerous "Red Smoke". After the player kills Dr. Harley Sawyer in Chapter 4, they obtain his Omni-Chip and use it to upgrade another Red Hand into the Omni-Hand at a terminal in his lair. This hand can only be used four times and unlocks high-security level doors throughout the factory. When Huggy Wuggy destroyed the player's GrabPack 2.0 early in Chapter 5, the player retrieves an old GrabPack 2.0 from Bron the Dinosaur in the Boilers area. This GrabPack comes with two new functional hands: The Pressure Hand and the Conductive Hand. In addition, players can find various VHS tapes throughout the factory that give a more in-depth explanation of the story.

Features of Project Playtime:
Asymmetrical 6v1 matches: Project Playtime pits six survivors against one monster. You join a team that must move carefully and keep tasks progressing while a player-controlled creature hunts. Each role shifts the pace of play, which keeps rounds varied from start to finish.
GrabPack interactions: Project Playtime uses the GrabPack as a core tool for progress. With it, you trigger devices, solve simple puzzles, and reach distant handles to open paths. Timing and positioning matter, especially when a chase forces quick decisions.
Horror, survival, and puzzle blend: You experience stealth, quick escapes, and light problem solving under pressure in an eerie toy factory. Sound cues and sightlines influence how you plan routes. This blend rewards staying together when danger rises, then splitting to finish tasks once the area calms.
Objective-driven rounds: Project Playtime assigns clear goals in every match. Teams locate toy parts, complete puzzle stations, and bring pieces to assembly points to advance. Progress markers help you decide when to push ahead or pause and regroup.
Poppy Playtime universe and free to play entry: Project Playtime expands the Poppy Playtime world with familiar themes and tone for fans. It is designed as free to play, allowing new users to jump into multiplayer without an upfront purchase, which supports quick learning through live matches.

Strategies of Project Playtime:
monster is the hardest thing to play in this game. while this team has some upsides (huggy charge) it has some downsides (jank and unreliability of Boxy's hook) and since im a boxy main with about almost 50 games AS boxy i can say im practically a PRO boxy player now so here's what i've got to say about him
Boxy BOO: BOXY BOO is i feel like the monster with the HIGHEST skill cap having MANY hard difficult strategies that are pretty well hidden yet REALLY good when used. and i saw astral spiff said he was the weakest and I have gotta disagree i have tried all 3 monsters and NONE of them match to the sheer power a boxy can have when played right. and here's why
1: extra jump height: this is a massive advantage boxy has over the other 2 monsters. his jump height is INSANE being able to jump over most obstacles while huggy has to go around or mommy has to slowly pull herself into. while he just goes BOING and he is over it just like that. while this doesnt have that many uses in theater map it is GREAT on TOY FACTORY being able to jump up on the conveyor belts which if your playing as huggy is basically impossible to access and yes mommy can get up but it takes her some precious time to do so while boxy just has to hit the space bar or scroll down and he is up. this brings me to his 1st and best ability
LEAP: in this move boxy gets in his box and LAUNCHES across the map with speed unmatched by even huggy's charge making boxy leaping straight forward the fastest thing in the game (as of right now) this is amazing for traversin the map with haste or closing the gap on a survivor who is 1 hit from death. this also leads into one of the most overpowered strats which can double the distance you can go to basically cover the entire map instantly... you can B hop after a leap... and this is just insanely overpowered. especially in theater. it takes me about 7 seconds after spawn to get to the first pillar aslong as i time a good B hop from the archin path which leads to the tower next to the stairs... its insane. also boxy can use his hook grab mid air which allows you to drag survivors up in the air. i find this to have no reason other than comedic and style value but can be used to jump and pull survivors OVER some obstacles which can stop your grab and thus stop the pull from happening. also if you charge leap you can still swing your attack. so if you charge. swing to pick up a survivor. and THEN release shift. you will LEAP WITH the survivor in your grasp. you can also for style points leap above a pit and slam dunk a survivor in the pit for and giggles. oh and you can also leap up to EXTREMELY high places on theater. and you can just sit up there and the survivors cant reach you. or you can pull survivors up with your
HOOK GRAB: the most jank part of boxy's kit. if you hook a survivor and they do as much as GRACE a surface they instantly break free and you are stuck on cooldown... not to say this comes with JUST disadvantages tho. you can pull survivors out of gates they just closed which if your good enough with your swings and their bad with their running or juking then its an EASY down and wuggy pit they go. if your on a upper floor and the survivor is on a lower one you can actually pull them up too lmao. but most likely they will fall back down but its funny nonetheless. this thing really helps stop chases FAST and is good at denying escapes when the opportunity arrives which is pretttyyy goooood.

Player Comments of Project Playtime:
This game is fun, especially with others. But even playing with randoms can be fun. But it really depends. Some matches are really survivor-focused because the monster isn't very good. Or you could be fighting for your damn life against a good monster. A good team and a good monster makes all the difference.
The main issue currently from a non-gameplay perspective is the host leaving mid-match and losing out on all your progress and Tickets which really sucks. That needs to be fixed or punish those who quit mid-match who host. Because I don't know how many times I've been booted to the main menu due to a host dying from the monster. Other than that person who leaves because they did not get monster.
Quick play. Doesn't work. It never works for me. Please fix/implement it. That would be nice to have vs finding a lobby. As well as fixing getting booted to the lobby when a match you try to join is full. Among a many few minor UI stuff. Everything works alright. Sometime you just need to keep refreshing the lobby page.
With all the non-gameplay out of the way.
I just want to say I personally really enjoy the gameplay of this game and how most games you can play with or without friends. And how you don't necessarily need a good team to win or survive even. What can hold the game back is who you have as teammates or the monster.
This game at release was heavily monster oriented. And seemed to win more often. But after having 50 Hours and level 100+ on the pass. The game is very much survivor oriented. A good group of survivors can outplay even some of the more skilled monster players. Once perks got involved for survivors things get much easier. A well-coordinated team can easily prevent a monster from killing anyone. Completing the puzzles in just a few minutes if the monster doesn’t prevent them.
In terms of Monsters. The only monster I have a serious issue with is mommy because it feels like even low-skilled players can abuse the webs and slow you down. Let alone good players. In some cases, it's impossible to escape the slow-down effect. You also can't jump. So I think she needs a slight nerf. Other than not she is not too hard to deal with. A good Mommy player can use her ability to sling themselves across the map and track even the most tricky survivors.
Huggy is pretty fair in terms of abilities. Even though the instant kill charge can be annoying to deal with. A skilled survivor can easily prevent it from happening and a skilled Huggy player can easily utilize it in the best of times. Other than the odd issue where they can curve the charge around objects. It is pretty fair playing against Huggy. His sentries can be annoying but can easily be avoided if you walk behind them or quickly sprint or roll past them. It is possible to completely speed past them without alerting them.
Boxxy is hit or miss depending on who plays them. New players are laughable at how easy it is to walk away and completely disregard this monster. As he has no one-hit kill abilities. And low damage compared to the other monsters. But what he makes up for is his movement. You can spring across the map in an instant. Jump over objects sometimes even completely disregarding what a survivor has to persuade you from chasing. A good Boxxy will not let you escape easily at all. Boxxy has the best movement when it comes to monsters. Being able to fly across the map and attack lightning fast. Makes him very good at cutting people off. Not even mentions his grab ability. If you can time a grab, you can trap survivors with you if they try to pull a door down on you. Cutting off any escape. The reach is so long so if you can aim well you can pull someone to you from pretty far distance. sometimes the grab doesn't work at all and survivors will just wiggle free like nothing happened. Boxxy is the monster I play the most.
Conclusion:
Project Playtime stands out by turning the creepy toy-factory world into a tense multiplayer survival game where teamwork, puzzles, and constant pressure all collide. The GrabPack mechanics and monster-versus-survivor structure give it a more active identity than a standard horror chase game. Still, balancing problems and server issues can hurt the experience. Even so, it remains an interesting and energetic twist on the Poppy Playtime formula.
