South leads J and no one else can follow suit. West sloughs a heart, North attempts to trump with 10 and East takes the trick with K.

Each hand consists of a number of tricks. A four-handed game consists of thirteen tricks using all fifty-two cards. The player on the dealer's left makes the opening lead by playing a single card of their choice.[9] Players in clockwise fashion then play cards of their choice. They must follow suit if possible. Otherwise they may play any card, including a trump spade.

Once a card has left the hand of a player, it stands and cannot be retrieved, unless the player who threw the card makes an effort to correct their mistake before the next player lays down a card.

A common variant rule, borrowed from Hearts, is that a player may not lead spades until a spade has been played to trump another trick. This prevents a player who is "long" in spades (having a large number of them) from leading spades one after the other at the beginning of the hand to deplete them and thus prevent other players using them as trumps. The act of playing the first spade in a hand is known as "breaking spades", derived from its parent rule, "breaking hearts". When a player leads with a spade after spades has been broken, the other players must follow suit.

Another common variant rule, also borrowed from Hearts, is that a player cannot lead spades in the first trick.

The trick is won or taken by the player who played the highest card of the led suit. If trumps were played, the highest trump card wins.[8] The player who wins the trick gathers the cards up into a facedown arrangement that allows players to count the number of tricks taken. The contents of each trick can not be viewed after this point, except to determine whether a player reneged.

The number of tricks a player has won cannot be disguised. If asked, each player must count out their tricks until everyone has agreed on the "trick count". The player who wins any given trick, leads the next. Play continues until all players have exhausted their hands, which should occur on the same last trick. Otherwise, it is declared a misdeal.

Useful Tips of Spades Stars:

Pay attention to the cards that have been played. Try to follow the number of spades played and what royals from each suit have been played at first. This will help you decide when to cut and how strongly.

Don’t cut your partner’s winning trick. If you're paying attention, you should know when your partner plays the highest card in a suit. If they would win with it, don't cut it.

Don't always hold your ace of spades until the last trick. New players seem to think they can "steal" a trick later if they hold onto it. But if your team will lose the current trick otherwise, use the ace. Why give away a trick now for one later? Also, the trick you're planning to "steal" at the end might end up being your partner's.

When covering a partner's nil, if the other team has already covered the trick, let them take it. Setting your bid is better than setting the nil.

Don’t bid Nil with 4 or more spades, unless you’re desperate or your partner bids ridiculously high before you. (This is one you'll learn to judge over time, but until then, just don't do it.)

You will get set. You will make a mistake. You will hit 10 bags for -100. Remain calm and play well. Don’t try to force a nil or bid blind nil when it isn’t a wise choice. It only takes 1 or 2 hands to get behind, and it should only take 1 or 2 hands to be back in the lead. Play smart, regardless of setbacks.

played almost every spades game ...this one is my favorite...having troubles skipping games in tournaments also not keeping winning board up if you don't qualify can't send a message for help with issues...love this game but getting frustrated,,not giving chips win a game is won or from the race...no ads if you pay for no ads.

the interesting part of the casino games available are not spades pinochle or cribbage which is something that could be added to the card games available for all levels of players. allowing your app to affiliate with a group of casinos that could have a group of players competing for the chance to play tournaments and cash games could be an upgrade to what you are already offering and could help with new customer acquisition.
