Asura Scans

Asura Scans is a manga reading application that offers an extensive library of titles for users to explore. You can search for your favorite manga using keywords, or discover new reads through the app’s carefully curated collections, trending titles, and popular series. While reading, you can easily add any manga to your favorites—not only for quick access later, but also to help the app provide personalized recommendations, ensuring you always discover fresh, engaging content. The library is constantly expanding, with new chapters and titles added daily, so there’s always something to look forward to!

Features of Asura Scans:

Search for specific series: Asura Scans lets you search for a title when you already know its name or part of its name. This can help you locate manga, manhwa, or manhua without browsing through every category. Search results lead to individual series pages where you can review the available information before deciding whether to save a title.

Browse current and popular titles: You can use trending lists, popularity rankings, editor recommendations, and recent activity to look for something new. These sections give different ways to approach discovery when you do not have a title in mind. For example, recent chapter activity can help you notice series that have been updated, while rankings show titles attracting attention on the platform.

Explore by genre: Asura Scans groups comics by genres such as action, adventure, comedy, fantasy, and dungeons. Genre browsing is useful when you want stories with a particular setting or tone. You can move from a genre list to a series page and compare summaries and other details across several titles.

Keep a personal reading list: You can save favorite series and use bookmarks to build a list of titles to revisit. This helps separate series you plan to follow from titles you only want to check later. When your list grows, saved entries provide a simpler starting point than searching for each comic again.

Review series details: Each series page can include a story summary, series information, and chapter activity. Some entries also show an available novel version connected to the comic. This gives you context about a title before adding it to your reading list or looking for a related format.

Strategies of Asura Scans:

Grant storage permissions: This allows chapters to cache for offline reading.

Explore the home feed: Discover trending and recently updated titles or use the search bar.

Bookmark your series: Track your progress and get instant access to your favorites.

Enable Marathon Mode: Turn this on before you start a session to auto-load chapters.

Use Wi-Fi-only download mode: Save mobile data by downloading chapters on Wi-Fi.

Clear image cache periodically: Free up device space without losing bookmarks or progress.

Changelog:

Since we launched novels on Asura, many of you have told us that purchasing Shards chapter by chapter isn't ideal, especially if you're following multiple novels and keeping up with every new release.

We understand, and we agree. For readers who regularly follow novels, a single subscription makes much more sense than constantly having to top up on Shards.

That's why we're introducing Asura+ Mythic, our newest subscription tier.

Asura+ Mythic

The Asura+ Mythic card: Unlimited Novel Access, Exclusive MYTHIC Badge, Selectable Comment Background Colour and Everything in Premium

With Mythic, you get everything included in Asura+ Premium, plus unlimited access to every novel chapter on Asura, including the latest chapters that would normally require Shards.

No more purchasing Shards or worrying about locked chapters. As long as your Mythic subscription is active, you can read any novel chapter on the site at no additional cost.

Shards will still be available for readers who only follow a few novels or just want to unlock the occasional chapter, and any Shards you already have will stay in your account.

What does Mythic include?

Unlimited Novel Access: Read every novel chapter on Asura, including all Shard-locked chapters.

Everything in Premium: Early chapter access, ad-free reading, offline reading, priority comments, seeing who liked your comments, and access to our exclusive Discord server.

Exclusive MYTHIC Badge: A distinctive red MYTHIC badge displayed next to your name.

Selectable Comment Background Colour: Personalize your comments with a background colour of your choice from a number of options.

Mythic comments with the red MYTHIC badge and a coloured comment background

Mythic is $9.99 a month, or $89.99 a year (25% cheaper). Because every novel chapter is included, it sits above Premium, but it still costs less than catching up on a single novel with Shards. If you only read one novel, Shards may be all you need. If you follow a few or love to binge, Mythic is by far the better deal.

Already on Basic or Premium? You can upgrade anytime, and whatever time you have left on your current plan becomes free Mythic days, so you never lose what you’ve paid for.

Series Reviews

Comments are great for reacting to the latest chapter, but they rarely tell you whether a series is actually worth starting. That’s why we’ve added a dedicated Reviews tab on series pages, where readers share what they think of the series as a whole, so you can decide if it’s for you before diving in.

You can write one review per series, and each review displays how far the reviewer has read, so others can better understand the perspective behind it.

Every review is checked before it’s posted, so what you read is a genuine opinion on the story. Low-effort posts like “best series ever” or “trash” with no reasoning won’t make it through, and neither will spam or abuse.

Whether you loved a series or felt it could have been better, we encourage you to share your thoughts!

Novels Are Now Available Offline

You can now download and read free novel chapters through Asura Offline, alongside your downloaded comics.

We've also added a dyslexia-friendly font to the novel reader, giving readers another option for a more comfortable reading experience.

New Chapter Push Notifications

You can now receive real push notifications directly on your phone or computer whenever a series you've bookmarked releases a new chapter.

Unlike our existing notification bell, these alerts appear on your device even when Asura isn’t open, just like notifications from other apps.

To enable them, go to Settings → Notifications → New chapter notifications.

You'll need to enable notifications separately on each device. For iPhone and iPad users, you'll first need to add Asura to your Home Screen, then enable notifications from there.

Gift Premium to Your Guildmates

Want to treat someone in your guild?

You can now gift Asura+ Premium to any guildmate for either one month or one year.

Gifts are one-time purchases, so there's no recurring subscription to worry about.

Pick Up Where You Left Off

Asura now remembers exactly where you stopped reading. If you leave partway through a chapter, opening the series again from your bookmarks, the Continue Reading row, or the series page takes you straight back to that chapter and the spot you were at. This works for both comics and novels.

A chapter only counts as read once you've gone through most of it, so a chapter you only started won’t get skipped next time. Your exact spot is remembered on the device you were reading on.

We've also added keyboard navigation for novels, so you can use your arrow keys to switch between novel chapters, just like in the comic reader.

More Profile Privacy Controls

You now have more control over what other users can see on your profile.

You can individually manage the visibility of your comments, reading activity, and bookmarks, choosing between:

Everyone: Visible to all users.

Friends and guildmates: Only people you're connected with can see them.

Only you: Keep them completely private.

Each setting can be configured independently under Settings. By default, all three are set to Everyone, so nothing changes unless you choose to. If you had previously hidden one of these, it’s now set to Only you.

With this update, we feel Asura is in a really good place feature-wise. Going forward, we'll be focusing less on adding new features and more on making the site faster, smoother, and more reliable, and fixing bugs as they come up.

As always, thank you for supporting Asura and being part of our community. Whether you’re a free reader, a Basic or Premium subscriber, or joining us with Mythic, we appreciate every one of you.

Let us know what you think of these updates, and if you run into anything that isn't working right, please report it!

Final words:

Asura Scans APK fits readers who follow serialized comics and want a straightforward way to keep up with frequent updates. It works best during short breaks, daily commutes, or quiet evenings when reading a few chapters feels easier than opening multiple browser tabs.
