Baldi's Basics Plus is an adventure game that seamlessly blends horror and roguelike elements. Players will delve into a mysterious school and encounter a variety of fascinating characters. Utilizing their unique abilities, players will embark on adventures across the campus, solving peculiar puzzles and collecting items from random events, ultimately uncovering the hidden truth of the school. The game boasts diverse levels, randomly generated by AI, offering a fresh experience each time they enter, ensuring endless fun.

Characters:

Baldi: The main antagonist, Baldi, is relentless in his pursuit. His speed increases the closer you get to collecting all required items.

Principal of the Thing: He enforces the “rules” of the game, detaining players if they’re caught running or breaking other school rules, which can throw a wrench in your escape plans.

Playtime: This character forces you to jump rope, wasting valuable time as Baldi gets closer.

Have a Sweep: A broom that can push you around the map, sometimes into Baldi’s path.

1st Prize: A robot that loves you and may accidentally shove you into danger.

Each character adds a unique challenge, and learning how to handle them is critical to surviving each level.

Modes:

Hide & Seek: Avoid Baldi as you complete a series of randomly generated levels! Run out of lives and you'll have to start over from the beginning. Beat them all in one go to win! Currently, Hide & Seek has you play through 3 randomly generated levels of increasing difficulty, with more planned to be added.

Endless Mode: See how many notebooks you can collect before being caught by Baldi! Compete by playing on pre-made levels, or go crazy and try playing on a randomly generated one. Currently, there is 1 pre-made map and 1 type of randomly generated map to choose from, with plans to add more.

Challenge Mode (PLANNED FOR LATER IN DEVELOPMENT): As you make new discoveries in Hide & Seek, you'll unlock challenges! Challenges offer unique scenarios you won't find in the main game. One might have you sneaking around the school to avoid being seen by the Principal of the Thing, another might have both you and Baldi running at super high speeds! Currently, there are 3 challenge maps in the game for legacy purposes, with plans to add many all new and improved challenges when the game is nearing completion.

Field Trips: Play field trip minigames found in Hide & Seek whenever you like! You can try to set high scores, or just practice. Currently there are 2 field trip minigames available, with plans to add more.

Controller Support: Connect a third-party controller device to enhance your gaming experience. While the game has on-screen controls, using a controller provides greater comfort and ease of control.

Graphics Quality: Despite its intentionally old-school graphics, the game's unique vibe sets it apart. The classic graphics style adds to the nostalgic charm, and it works well on both new and old devices.

Comments:

Those 90s and early 00s edutainment shows really were crazy stuff and Baldi's Basics Plus manages to capture the randomness of those shows very well. Each time you play the game, everything is randomly generated so no two play throughs will ever be exactly the same. It makes for a game with near endless replayability, to be honest with you. There are also random events that can happen such as the school being filled with fog or a flood happening. It makes it so that you never really know what to expect, no matter how familiar with the game you may feel you are.

One of the most impressive aspects of Baldi's Basics Plus is just how much content the game has. I am not just talking about the way the stages are randomly generated either. The game has its main mode where you have to collect your notebooks and avoid Baldi at all costs. There is also an Endless Mode where you are basically just trying to see how long you can survive, there is also a challenge mode that you can unlock as you play the main mode and this gives you specific and tricky challenges to complete. You can even play the mini-games that are the “field trips” that the game has once you have unlocked them.

The presentation of Baldi's Basics Plus is freaking nuts! It is like a nightmare version of stuff like Pee-Wees Playhouse , Blues Clues, and Dora the Explorer. Baldi is creepy, but he also has all these weird and messed up looking friends. I know that some people find the game scary, but I never did. Do not get me wrong, I love the whole messed up vibe that they have going on here, but it did not offer me the same kind of jump scares as FNaF did, but to be fair, that is a personal thing as I know a friend who said this made him jump on a few different occasions.

Baldis Basics Plus is an action game. It is a quirky survival horror game masquerading as an educational experience inside a twisted schoolhouse. At first, the simple pixelated graphics and retro feel suggest a friendly, old-school learning title.In Baldis Basics Plus, you wander hallways collecting notebooks to progress, but the moment you step into Baldi’s domain, it becomes clear that this is anything but ordinary. Every notebook triggers a math question; answering correctly lets you move on, but getting it wrong summons Baldi, a stern teacher with a ruler in hand.
