Getting Around And Getting It On

One of the many divisive things about Dandy Boy Adventures is the story. For an RPG, this is not as story driven as you would think. There are no large walls of text that you need to read, complex characters, or stuff like that. This town has quirky characters that you get to talk to and know, but the base of the story is that we are a randy dude, who loves the babes and wants to get as much action as he can.

Bound To This Earth

One of the first things that captured my eye with Dandy Boy Adventures was the art style. EarthBound has to be the inspiration for the presentation of this game… well the actual gameplay part, not all the thick chicks and nudity! It has a kind of surreal look to it all and the stuff the characters are wearing and the aesthetic in general, does have a kind of 80s feel to it. The girls tend to be of the thicker variety here, but I have to say that is one of the things that makes me like the game even more.

Getting A Little Lewder

While I liked many of the character designs in Dandy Boy Adventures, I have to say that the lewd content is not the best. Do not get me wrong, it seems like there is plenty of it. However, most of the sex scenes in the game are the same and the camera can get way too close to our hero’s butt! Also, the animation in the lewd scenes is not all that great either. This is one area that I feel needs more work.

Not Just Hard, NES Hard!

If you look online the biggest complaint that people have about Dandy Boy Adventures is the difficulty. Sometimes this can be a “where the hell am I supposed to go?” kind of game and that can get frustrating. You need to talk to pretty much everyone and you will come across various mini-games such as a puzzle one and a racing one. Now, these games are fun and play ok, but the winning conditions are very, very strict, you have to be pretty much perfect at all of the mini-games and that can make them more frustrating than fun.
