Fascinating Gameplay

Originally released in 1991 for the Game Boy, this version, like the Windows version, features modern graphics similar to Super Nintendo games like Super Metroid or Metroid: Zero Mission. In this game—obviously—you'll once again play as bounty hunter Samus Alan, exploring the depths of planet SR388 and eliminating various evolved Metroids. Like other titles in the series, you'll start your adventure with only a limited arsenal of weapons and skills, gradually increasing your strength as the story progresses. This is clearly a classic Metroidvania game.

The main (and only) difference between AM2R (Metroid II Remake) and the Windows version is that AM2R's controls are adapted for touchscreen devices. The gameplay experience is almost identical; the only difference is that players control the female protagonist using buttons on the touchscreen.

Attractive Characteristics

This game improves upon the original gameplay and adds various new features.

The game took approximately 10 years to develop and was created using GameMaker Studio.

The game received very positive reviews and was shortlisted for the "Best Fan Creation" award at the 2016 Game Awards, but the nomination was later withdrawn.

Due to Nintendo's development of the official game *Metroid: Samus Returns*, this game was removed from the market. However, its creator, Milton Gusti (aka DoctorM64), was later hired to design levels for the game *Ori and the Will of the Wisps*.

This is the final version of the game. I've also included an Android APK file, which should be the Android version of the game; hopefully, it will run correctly.

DoctorM64 has done a fantastic job with this fan-made game, and I hope he'll create a completely new game based on it someday.
