It's not a zombie shooter; you do that a little at the beginning, and then it becomes a side activity that ends quickly. This is more of an idle city-building war game. It's pay-to-play (obviously), but you can still enjoy it without spending money. This does add to the time required to do things, but it's still doable. You do reach a point where things start taking days to upgrade, so it hits a dragging point, but they are generous with speed-ups and bonus events for extra supplies and equipment.

It's so sad, actually. Such a great game, a great idea, very enjoyable, but only for a few days. After reaching level 15-16, it becomes uninteresting because you're just doing the same thing. There's no more fighting zombies, just growing, waiting days for upgrades, then a little play, and again, waiting days. I wish the playtime was longer and there were more real zombie fighting episodes. Still a great idea.

Oddly enough, it's actually a real game, and the combat is mostly accurate to the ad. It does bog down after a while, which is obviously done to get you to pay for upgrades, etc., with real money, but you can get a good deal of playtime for free. If you engage in the "alliance" system with other players, it opens up even more gameplay. Actually a good experience, which I didn't expect!
