Enter the Gungeon is a dungeon exploration game where players embark on a quest for redemption in a perilous dungeon alongside their companions.  Players will wield dozens of weapons, switching between them to eliminate all enemies and monsters that stand in their way, earning valuable rewards to trade with merchants for precious loot and enhance their and their team's combat capabilities. Enter the Gungeon features multiple playable characters, each with unique skills and secrets. Players must skillfully utilize their character's abilities to navigate through bullet hell and complete their quest for redemption. Action game enthusiasts shouldn't miss Enter the Gungeon!

Weapons:

Speaking of weapons, this is the reason why Enter the Gungeon is called one of the legendary roguelikes. This game currently has more than 300 different types of weapons from pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers, sniper rifles and many other strange style guns. These weapons are divided by rarity, the rarer the stronger the damage. You can collect them from treasure chests or buy them at the store. Note that ammunition is limited, so if you run out, you will have to switch to a new gun.

Here are some guns that we find quite strong in Enter the Gungeon:

Gunther: A gun that gets more powerful the longer you use it.

Excalibur: Gun or sword? A tough question, but it’s really powerful.

Serious Cannon: Fires a bullet that bounces all over the place.

The Deck of Cards: Each shot is a card draw, a pretty hit-or-miss way to fight.

The Bullet: Fires a strange bullet shaped like the Bullet Kin character.

The Big Shotgun: A knock-off of Doom’s BFG – unquestionably powerful.

Strategies:

For those jumping into the APK version, here are some tips to survive longer:

Master the dodge roll: This is your lifeline. Time it to pass through bullet patterns.

Use cover wisely: Flipping tables and hiding behind obstacles can save your health.

Experiment with weapons: Some guns may seem odd at first but are surprisingly effective.

Learn enemy patterns: Recognizing attacks early helps you dodge more efficiently.

Don’t hoard keys: Unlocking chests early often gives better gear for the rest of the run.

Player Comments:

After playing Nuclear Throne, I decided to look for similar games. Then I remembered - I'd already bought this a long time ago. I am so glad I gave it another try (originally, my controller wouldn't work properly, but turned on Steam Input and it works great).It's got the common elements of Nuclear Throne, but far more polish while still maintaining the challenge. Each run is fulfilling, and there's so many options and combinations that you could *literally* play for hundreds, if not thousands hours.10/10. Can't recommend this game enough.

10 years old and still managing to remind me I am an old man who doesn't have enough synapses left to be good at bullet hell games. Loads of guns and item variety, plus the synergy mechanic (some guns and items create unique boosts or modifications for each other) makes every run a lot of fun. Will say some of the unlocks to clean up for 100% are a little grindy.

Enter the Gungeon is definitely an amazing game. While not one of my favorite roguelikes that's solely based on personal opinion, the game plays incredibly well being difficult but not to difficult for casual players to beat. The difficulty doesn't really ramp up, so once you've beaten the hardest modes like max curse or rainbow run you've basically beaten the hardest difficulty, however the game has an incredibly diverse group of characters, guns, and items leading to most runs being different. Regardless of the slight lack in later difficulties the game is truly great, 9/10.

 Without spoiling too much, it is one of my favorite games of all time. Feels extremely satisfying to play once you get the hang of the controls and how dungeon generation works. In the beginning, you will die a lot. It's a difficult game, and dying sets you all the way back to the beginning. Having to do everything over again does suck, but you learn more about everything the more you play, because every single run will be different from your last. The pixel art is peak, the soundtrack is peak, and the characters/enemies are peak, except Ammoconda.Near the end-game, it might be worth your time to look up a wiki or guide on how to get the later things, but I feel it should be experienced blind for most of it, unless you are really struggling. I'd recommend using a controller if you can.

Final Thoughts:

Enter the Gungeon is the legendary bullet hell dungeon crawler that follows a band of misfits who seek to shoot, loot, dodge roll and table-flip their way to personal absolution: the gun that can kill the past. Very few have accomplished this feat, and yet, the Gungeon remains.
